More stereotyped journalism
1 September 2010 at 10:31 pm #45064Didn’t they do this the last time they played them?
1 September 2010 at 10:39 pm #45065Don’t remember it, but maybe they did.
No problem with the concept – I’ve more an issue with the journalistic style.
Not enough an issue to lose any sleep over it though …. ;)

Having read the article they didn’t do the large screens, but they definitely stopped off at the ground en route.
1 September 2010 at 11:06 pm #45073Yeah they did stop at the ground but i think that was just something that their Official Supporters Club sorted rather than them being forced into it by the police like they are this time.
On the way back they are getting bused back to Wigan / DW and dumped to make their own way home.
1 September 2010 at 11:18 pm #45074So they dropping them near one of the biggest drinking towns in England? Great idea GMP.
1 September 2010 at 11:27 pm #45075Cant see there being many places open on a Tuesday night.
A Rangers supporting mate e-mailed me earlier asking where they might get “refreshments” once they get back. All i could come up with is the Moon, open till midnight, and Boulevard, open till 1am. I would think everywhere else will be shut by the time they get back here cos i would think they’ll get held in their seats for half an hour after the game.

Ah on a Tuesday is diff. Thought it might have been the Wednesday.
2 September 2010 at 3:15 am #45092If this is going to be arranged through the Rangers Travel Club, there won’t be any issues whatsoever. The Travel Club is strictly governed, with any sign of misbehaviour resulting in them being thrown out and being barred from all future trips and ticket ballots – and that does mean a lot to them. The Travel Club lot are a well behaved bunch, and in general, decent people. Also, if there are any supporters travelling independently, Rangers in the most part, like Wigan Athletic because of Lee McCulloch, Andy Webster, JJB, and blue shirts.
Manchester will have problems though, and there will be trouble no matter what measures GMP put in place. The Mancs want retribution, and there’s no way the Weegies will back down.
2 September 2010 at 11:38 am #45100Its not like Rangers have a history of disgracing the sport when they have played football in Manchester. A bunch of inbread dirty scum…
3 September 2010 at 6:15 pm #45264“There will be no trouble with Wigan supporters because there are barely enough of them to make their presence felt when Wigan are playing”
BORING!!!!!!
3 September 2010 at 6:32 pm #45266The phrase used by other Scottish clubs (and not just Celtic as in this picture) to describe Rangers’ fans:
3 September 2010 at 7:25 pm #45270Rangers through and through…..
