Didn’t the club announce that something like 2 thousand tickets had been sold prior to the game ?

On sunday we paid at the ground, there was about 50 or 60 in the queue ahead of us when we joined it and as I went through the turnstile I turned to look back and saw at least the same number if not alot more behind me, granted the pay gate could have had hardly anyone going through it earlier or later but I saw about 150ish in a short space of time, also lots of people I talked to on saturday and in huddersfield on sunday did not have tickets.

Add the number paying on the gate to the pre sold tickets and there was definately more than some are claiming. I don’t care if the chairman of hudderfield town told someone on here there was only 1750 both myself and everyone else there knows that is a gross under estimation.

I think they said that they had taken an allocation of 2000. Don’t remember them saying that they had sold 2000, but I may be wrong.

I don’t care that you don’t care. I know what I know. And if my source is wrong, she’ll get what for. But I don’t think she is.

In the first part how can you state you ‘might’ be wrong about tickets sold.. When you have previously stated that you ARE right about the fact there were 1750?? ;) (Don’t say people with tickets might not have gone as that won’t be true)

James, learn to read properly before you start trying to be clever.

I said I might be wrong that the club had said they had taken an allocation of 2000 rather than them saying they had sold 2000. But, even if they did say they had sold 2000, they hadn’t. Because I am right that only 1750 supporters paid to get in.

Far be it from me to suggest you could possibly wrong on YOUR message board, seeing as you have never been before.

Can I ask you, did you go to Huddersfield on Sunday ?

If you did, what was your assessment of the numbers ?

If you was not there, why will you not accept the opinions of quite a number on here who were there ?

I was actually surprised by how many where there and am totally convinced the figure was well above 1750.

From a friend of mine whose family are big noises at Huddersfield, there were 1750 visiting supporters.

I’m gonna stick my neck out and say they’re wrong..

I’m not having that there was less than 2000 there.
I reckon it was somewhere around the 2300-2500 mark.
You can stick your neck wherever you want, but that’s the right number, believe me. I have absolutely nothing to gain by making it up. ;)
If you are simply repeating something that you have been told, then surely I am disagreeing with the person who originally stated it and not you? (Hence my use of the word “THEY” and not “YOU”).

Therefore, I don’t understand why you think I was trying to insinuate that YOU have just made it up?

If I’d said, “B*llocks – nobody’s told you that”.. then your reply would make sense.

But I didn’t – I have no doubt that you have been told that, but I don’t agree with the statement.

I could be wrong, like you’ve admitted you could be, but we’ll find out when the official numbers are printed I guess.

Can I ask you, did you go to Huddersfield on Sunday ? Yes, driving, sober

If you did, what was your assessment of the numbers ? I didn’t assess it at all as I was busy watching the match, but I was very very surprised when I was told it was only 1750.

If you was not there, why will you not accept the opinions of quite a number on here who were there ? Well, because most opinions on here are bollocks and, in the face of the actual facts, with which I have now been furnished, even more so. And it’s “if you were not there”, not was

I was actually surprised by how many where there and am totally convinced the figure was well above 1750. Well, it seems we were both wrong. me for the first time, you once again. Now, get off my forum please

The 1750 is based on fans who paid to get in , myself and 2 mates got free comp tickets in the away end as we were walking to the ground , we couldnt have been the only ones.

So that’s 1752. What about the supposed other 1000?

Looking at it I would have said that numbers were roughky the same on both Saturday and Sunday and around the 2000 mark but haven’t seen a full on shot of the stand on either day or indeed know the capacity of each block as I do at The DW.

There were a large number of empty seats behind the goal on the Sunday at the front as I moved to one in the second half and quite a few on the right hand side where I was sat in the first half. Obviously I haven’t seen the left side.

The person who told me has absolutely no reason to lie and will have more valid access to the correct figure than anyone else. I really don’t know why I am arguing with you.

However, if it does turn out that my source was ‘wrong’ I will issue a full apology – just after showing my arse in Burton’s window.

The big question Griff is which side took more? Wigan RL or Wigan Athletic?

I actually couldn’t care less but it would certainly shut at least one poster up on here be it SDW or LOTP

Neither could I, but you’re right – someone will end up with egg on their face, excuse the pun.

                        Nobody’s arguing.

Simply discussing the Huddersfield away following – surely that’s the whole point of a forum? To discuss topics? (I still don’t agree with 1750.. and I know you “don’t care”, before you bother typing it)

If nobody replied to topics, and therefore no discussions (or arguments, in your book) were started, then this place would be boring as f*ck!

I’m amazed how you can go on the ultra-defensive every time somebody disagrees with your post (and there’s no denying that you do – in the time I’ve been here anyway), yet still question why the resulting discussion/”argument” has commenced…

Still, makes this place entertaining! ;)
