he still remains 6th faveriote.cant see anything being contrete for a while.still plenty of over managers on there list
Did you just drop something heavy on your keyboard and see what it came up with?
Beat me to it…although I was going to say ‘And now try it with your right foot.’9 June 2011 at 2:36 pm #67417Its a difficult one to comment or pass judgement on this
I don’t know about that. You’ve not done too badly!
Maybe “comment” was the wrong choice of word!!!! ;)
What I guess I was trying to say was that I can understand why he would leave but by the same token I can see plenty of reasons why supporters should expect a bit of loyalty back from him
So with that in mind if he does go I’ll neither slag him off (there’s a first time for everything!!!) nor send him on his way with my best wishes – its just one of those thingsIn light of the “I told you so” posts that arrived on here following the Stoke game I may be tempted to do likewise if he does go just to do a bit of stirring   ;)

I’ve no room to criticise anyone for writing an epic after some of my message board novels over recent years!Personally, I can’t see the move coming off myself, but you never know, stranger things have happened. If he did go, I’d still wish him good luck and thank him for all he’s done, and also hope whoever comes in can continue where he left off.
I’m being very noncommittal on this one!
9 June 2011 at 3:11 pm #67419Dave is on SSN this lunchtime and will hopefully announce Roberto has rejected Villa. Optimism with most tics fans I know is high for next season and it could be our best to date if Bob stays.
9 June 2011 at 3:14 pm #67420I hope that he has the courage to stand by what he has said and he stays. If he doesn’t, i think it would be a short term gain and delay / possibly hamper his career.
He set out with a 5 year plan and said it would take 3 transfer windows to start to get there. We’ve all seen how we have played in the second half of the season and he is on track. Next season he can show the world what he can do even on a shoe string.
If he goes to Villa he will have to start again and there is always a risk that they take a dive first and get relegated. Lerner will get rid if it starts looking like relegation and then he will be seen as a failure. And it will be a lot harder to recover from relegation at AV than at Wigan (where everyone will have us down for it anyway).
If he stays with Wigan for at least a year more, and he shows us/world that he is delivering on his plan, his next move could be Arsenal or Barca or Man U. Stop laughing, i am serious! I said sometime ago on this board – he will be a top top manager. If Wenger doesn’t win anything next year will he survive? When will Pep G look for a new challenge? How long can AF go on for?
So lets hope he is true to his words (though I fear that Swansea fans felt a tad betrayed) and he shows us the fruits of his plan before he does leave. We deserve to see it having suffered for periods in the last 2 years.9 June 2011 at 3:22 pm #67421I hope that he has the courage to stand by what he has said and he stays. Agree with all of that, fella. Even the Arsenal and Barca bit, though I’m not sure that would be his next move. Maybe later. ;)9 June 2011 at 3:53 pm #67422If Roberto does do the unusual thing to show loyalty and not follow the premiership media bandwagon by joining a so called giant of the game.
I cannot wait to see who arrives at wigan. Martinez has brought in some really decent players for us, (exc Bosselli) for one i think the aquisition of Diame is just superb scouting. To bring a player from the lower leagues of his quality at such a young age. Hopefully he has some other hidden gems that he can unvail to the Wigan fans. Without sounding too much of a retarded optimist; with the way we played and presented ourselves over the latter stages of the season. Why can we not aim for top half finish? we can be just as good as fulham,Newcastle, Sunderland,West Brom even Everton.
9 June 2011 at 7:50 pm #67452As I live in Brummyland, I’m having fun telling Villa fans how rubbish he is and how they can expect a shed-load of 7-0 drubbings next season.
