28 September 2017 at 5:09 pm #162267Aaa, the magical merry go round of football management.
You never know he might surprise us all and do well up there. It is a bit of a tin pot league.

28 September 2017 at 10:45 pm #162271We have another connection with Ross County and a manager.
28 September 2017 at 11:35 pm #162272Owen Coyle’s new club.
BBC SportThe word banishment springs to mind B)
I’m on a little break in Scotland next week and will be going past their ground on the train.
I’ll give him a “wave” :lol:29 September 2017 at 1:30 am #162273Coyle had a shocker at Latics and left us in a mess, but he also left me with my favourite ever football trip, that amazing trip to Bruges. I will never forget that. I know he didn’t actually get us there but he was part of the memory.
29 September 2017 at 1:48 pm #162274A mess? What did he do? Relegate us from the Greed League then piss off? Relegate us from The Championship?
29 September 2017 at 3:00 pm #162275A mess? What did he do? Relegate us from the Greed League then piss off? Relegate us from The Championship? He didn’t. But to be fair donny, i think he played the initial part to the “start” of the mess we have found ourselves in over the last 3-4 years.
29 September 2017 at 3:55 pm #162276I suppose ‘mess’ is a subjective term, so it opens me up to criticism. I agree he didn’t do the relegation stuff etc that you mention, but my recollection from the time was we probably only won half a dozen games or so, we were pretty low in the league, there was an undercurrent of discontent in the stadium and the team looked a bit disorganised, with a squad that was probably one of the favourites to go back up. I guess thats what I meant by a mess. Despite all that Belgium was still my favourite trip! and it was under Coyle and he came over and clapped us all in the rain, in his shorts, at at that point it felt good, having had some alcohol free lager in the stadium.
29 September 2017 at 4:38 pm #162277Don’t get me wrong I was no big fan of Coyle but after Bobby left us and Whelan sold the best players Coyle was rushed in and completely re-built the squad. He had a difficult period to follow the cup win and to bed a new group of players in plus having both the League and Europa League to prepare for. His squad just missed out on promotion and reached a cup semi-final too. That wasn’t all down to Uwe.
I would rate him no worse than anything that followed him that’s Rosler McKay Caldwell and Joyce. Cook hasn’t been here long enough yet.29 September 2017 at 4:44 pm #162278Completely agree, some worse than others in that list! Touch wood we have something to build on with the current set up

That wasn’t all down to Uwe.Yes indeed, it was coyle’s squad that uwe took to both an FA cup & play-off semi final, but i firmly believe that coyle would not have got anywhere near both had he have remained in charge.

We were seriously struggling when Uwe took over.
That’s why Coyle was sacked. He ceratinly hadn’t built any sound foundations. -
