The sooner Whelan and Lindsay are gone the better. Don’t think because we had a lucky win against West Ham everythings fine, it most certainly is not.
15 September 2009 at 12:35 am #8740nobody biting mate….
15 September 2009 at 12:36 am #8741Why stop at sacking them?, crucifixtion anyone?, how about a stoning?, not been a decent stoning in Wigan for years.
15 September 2009 at 12:50 am #8743Nail some bloody sense into em!!
15 September 2009 at 9:57 am #8744better than a crucifixion or a stoning
15 September 2009 at 1:53 pm #8753Send em up Manningham Lane……it’s the best place for ’em!
15 September 2009 at 2:38 pm #8758or worst of all condem them to a lifetime of watching the worst sport ever created ,rugby league ,now that is torture at its worst
15 September 2009 at 3:46 pm #8768Can we keep Whelan for the time being, but put Lindsay in a room with bobbyswigan and wafc1932. Those two knobs will bore the effing t*ts off the c**t, and he’ll probably top himself.
15 September 2009 at 4:26 pm #8774The board anticipated the Premier League’s ‘Going Concern Test’ and quite rightly reduced the club’s debt levels so why should they be sacked?
Finances
“They will all have to annually submit accounts and future financial information,” said Scudamore.“At all times the board of the Premier League will be applying a test which basically says this: can the club fulfil its fixtures, pay off its creditors when they are due and also to meet obligations to the Premier League’s contracts and partners?
“If the board believe a club is at risk of not meeting those obligations, it has to then step in and agree a budget for the running of that club. Any transfers can be embargoed.
“It’s absolutely crucial that these clubs are run as ongoing viable concerns. These financial rules apply immediately.
“This is tied in, and we passed the rule during the summer, to a ‘fit and proper person test’. At our club meeting last week, the clubs absolutely endorsed our position of not linking expenditure to income.”

FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
15 September 2009 at 6:37 pm #8792It’s all fine and well people saying ‘sack the board’, but who on earth is going to step in and take over.
In all honesty, my eyes were opened with that finance thing that someone (I’m sorry I forget who) posted on here last week. Until then, I had been full of criticism for Whelan, calling him a tight so and so for not spending money on players.
However as it transpires that our clubs outgoings are something like 42 million, and our incomings are around 38 million, it doesn’t actually leave us with a lot to play with, does it?
Add the fact that our debts have been offset by loans arranged between Whelan and Barclays bank, and it really madce me think a lot differently, and see what position we are in. Other clubs such as Blackburn, are in the same boat. They sold Santa Cruz, and we sold Valencia. And neither of us are loaded from it. A sad indictment on todays game? It’s a sad indictmant of the world in general, as it happens. After learning this, I now get the picture. Without Whelan sorting these loans out, we’d be a lot worse off. In trouble, most likely. So I think people need to look further into it, before saying ‘sack the board’.
I discussed it with some chaps who sit near me on Saturday, and they were shocked, but came around to the same way of thinking, which is there is no better person to step in and take over, as it happens.
