Won’t play a better passing side in this league. Lovely on the eye ,even the keeper refused to launch it.They a bit weak last 3rd but we worked hard enough and had two great chances to nick it but happy with the point.
Yes and as it was the one pass too many could have cost them the game. The back pass.
I hope Gibson was watching their passing and it’s dawned on him that you actually should be passing to the ones in the same strip as yourself.That’s now a magnificent two shots on target in over 270 minutes. Needs sorting out. Needs sorting out now. Needs sorting for Saturday some how.
Garner has been the starting lone striker in each of those games and hasn’t mustered up one shot on target in any of those three games.
Not all his fault if he has no support or decent service.My starting line up for Saturday would be –

McManamanCook must hate macmanaman. Why the hell is he not given a chance given some of the performances of others. Can’t make much impact in the time he’s given.
Alot of players were off colour tonight. Powell was no were to be seen 2nd half. As someone else also pointed out, Gibsons passing ?, constantly gave the ball away. Garner ?, 100% effort but couldn’t buy you a goal.
Yes Swansea were playing good football but a simple shift onto his left or a dink over a flat out keeper by Grigg would have took all 3, very poor by Grigg.
I’ve said it all along, we lack a young hungry forward sat waiting in the wingsRyan bloody Colclough would have made a bigger impression on the right than Windass.
Cole would have made as much impression as Garner(no shots on target in 270 minutes) but to be fair on Garner he hasnt had much support or service.
Preston are scoring goals but their defence is dodgy so Grigg and McManaman must start at Deepshit. McManaman has the skill and ability to get round their defence but he wont do that getting splinters in his rigot. He could be this seaons Gary Teale.I think Macca’s carrying a knock but if he’s fit enough to sit on the bench then I’m sure there’s 15-20 in him.
We just lack that inovation in the last 3rd, never enough men in the box when needed (a midfielder or 2). Robinson scared to push and run especially when you’ve pace like him.
But for me, I know Gibson was out of sorts tonight but he needs to come into the middle and dictate rather than playing in front of the center halfsIn his first few appearances Gibson concentrated on playing the simple ball in order to get things moving. Last night he was just going for the killer ball most of the time and seemed in a rush to get attacks going.
Had Grigg taken either of his nailed on chances then it would have been daylight robbery at night! We were pretty poor last night and lucky to keep our unbeaten home record! The team for Saturday need to up their game considerably if we are to win this mouth watering derby! I say mouth watering because to me the North End games have always had more appeal to me as a derby than the Bolton games, probably because of where I come from!
There’s one of the problems….Grigg a great finisher and I think with right support from the flanks he can do it in this league. Trouble is if he out of form or injured then no real goalscorer. I like Garner for his nuisance value and same applies to Vaughan but goal threat ???. Powell vanished last night 2nd half and pushing him into lone striker role is pointless.I work in Blackburn so the banter with Rovers fans is endlessly around Dack or Powell ??? Powell definitely has the tools and quality but he at present doesn’t drive the team forward with the same energy or threat like Dack does for Rovers.Would I swap ???..Question certainly getting harder to answer .Powell being constantly substituted doesn’t help our cause and we certainly need him to emulate Dack and grab games by the scruff and perform.They both have an edge and are key to both teams season, Dack edges him Imo…for now at least. Would Windass be a better option ? Openly admitted he prefers that role and his best run of goals came down the middle,certainly wasted out wide.Getting the best out of Grigg has to come with supply from wide and that then becomes imperative that Macmanaman is given more game time.
