I hope it’s Croatia and not Russia otherwise we’ll get nothing.
Can you really see us beating them should they get through?7 July 2018 at 9:08 pm #170124Why not sammy.

Think your probably right Sammy. Expect some weird VAR decisions if it is Russia. Another hard luck story on the horizon if the Commies get through.
7 July 2018 at 10:36 pm #170128Another pointless negative attention seeking thread!
Fuck the EFL
7 July 2018 at 11:33 pm #170129Another pointless negative attention seeking thread! Why is it, Sammy has made a proper genuine point. I totally agree with him how much pressure do you imagine the ref will be under if Russia are playing for a place in the final. Cant you join in and add a relevant response and opinion. Bollox they have just scored.

He’s a wind-up merchant looking for a bite. Best just to ignore him.
8 July 2018 at 2:07 am #170132Panic over Sammy, Russia are out!
We can all sleep easy now knowing the officials wont be swayed by the home nation.
Pointless thread…..Closed book now!
Fuck the EFL
8 July 2018 at 5:39 pm #170147I would have thought that the politics surrounding Russia and Croatia would have been more of a hot potato! No dodgy decisions yesterday that I was aware of!

9 July 2018 at 12:57 am #170149I would have thought that the politics surrounding Russia and Croatia would have been more of a hot potato! No dodgy decisions yesterday that I was aware of!I’m not aware of any particular friction between Russia and Croatia but you are correct in that there was no controversial incidents requiring VAR in that match.
Should it have been Russia against us in the semi any marginal decisions requiring VAR would certainly have been weighted more in their favour, more so than it will be against Croatia.9 July 2018 at 1:25 am #170150The Russian public will see Croatia as the country who knocked their country out – it may sway a few neutrals to cheer for England!

On 26 March 2018, Croatia expelled one Russian diplomat as a show of solidarity with the United Kingdom which accused Russia of poisoning Sergei and Yulia Skripal. In a response, Russia decided to ban chief of staff of the Croatian foreign minister from entering its territory in an official capacity. That Russia’s decision was seen as surprising and a sign that Russia was dissatisfied with Croatia’s decision but that it didn’t want further escalation.[47]
9 July 2018 at 8:25 am #170153Oh Jesus wept, wtf has expelling diplomats got to do with this. Many countries including France did it. Sammy simply made the point that we would be better off playing Croatia and he is right. Up to now there has been no evidence of English people out there being treated any different to the rest and all those who have spoken have had nothing but good to say about their hosts. Anyone who seriously thinks we would have got all the dodgy decisions had we been playing Russia are way off the mark. Lets stick to the point and ignore the James Bond bollox.
