Oh Jesus wept, wtf has expelling diplomats got to do with this. Many countries including France did it. Sammy simply made the point that we would be better off playing Croatia and he is right. Up to now there has been no evidence of English people out there being treated any different to the rest and all those who have spoken have had nothing but good to say about their hosts. Anyone who seriously thinks we would have got all the dodgy decisions had we been playing Russia are way off the mark. Lets stick to the point and ignore the James Bond bollox.
I’m with you on this, you may have misconstrued my post! it was Sammy who alluded to the idea of VAR conspiracy not me! I was just saying that England would have been treated no differently than Croatia had they played Russia! I hope this clears things up! ;)
I doubt politics would have come into it, but as we have seen in the PL and most games at Championship level, a vociferous crowd can have an effect on a referee/assistant and of course can get a side up for a big game and big moments as we have seen with Russia in this tournament so I’m quite glad that we will be playing Croatia.
From a purely football POV though I would have preferred Russia as Croatia are the better side.

But we seen all too often in this WC var has made some right dodgy decisions fil so yet again in with Sammy on this.
