15 April 2019 at 2:22 am #178107My question was about having two so called wingers playing and replacing them with players who were not wingers.
I was wondering whether it was tactical.Do we ever know why PC makes these changes.
Massey hobbled off, so that was an easy decision, Naismith however, was causing loads of problems, and looked suprised himself to be taken off.15 April 2019 at 2:53 am #178108You’re right Brownbill Apart from running his balls off, unsettling defence constantly, nearly scoring a cracker and being denied a goal at the death against top of league he was shite. Bring back Grigg!Well getting shut of Grigg and not playing him when he was available as been a major contribution to why we are in this predicament.
Don’t compare a Latics legend (Will Grigg) to waste of space twice around (Clarke) because he has actually done what he has meant to do in one game.15 April 2019 at 5:27 am #178112Naismith however, was causing loads of problems, and looked suprised himself to be taken off.He wasn’t at all surprised. He was clocking up some extra time for the substitution. Commonly done.
You can also tell who is coming off when a right sided player comes across to the East Stand, and then has to walk slowly across the pitch, after looking around, ignoring the board, asking everyone “me?”.15 April 2019 at 10:44 am #178114Naismith hasn’t played for a while so no doubt he was brought off because he had clocked up the metres ran. Cook seems to folloe the stats for his subs as we’ve said before.
We came away with a good point against the odds that leaves everything still firmly in our hands and yet still people are having a good old moan.
15 April 2019 at 2:10 pm #178123Agree Donny…some folk enjoy turd polishing. Not playing Grigg when fit and replacing him with Clarke also offloading Vaughan and Macca no game time . All reasons why we in the mire and yet all I hear is the Cookie cults “were not bottom 3” chant. Dont think I’ll see a worse away record at this club in my time yet had it been any other club he’d have been long gone.

Cook on course (thus far) to achieve the clubs seasons main objective.

It is a good point against an excellent side and worthy champions elect yet once again we take the lead and fail to get 3 points. Its so frustrating coz we could easily be mid table had we seen out these games

Do you think Lockers will be fit for Friday?

The stats were given out on the PWU podcast last week and it’s frightening. That’s where I will defend Cook. He is hardly to blame for players switching off late on like they did on Wednesday night for example. Yes he can change his team selections and drop players that do it but we have a reasonably small squad and can’t be dropping everyone.
15 April 2019 at 4:35 pm #178131Yeah. Grigg was setting the world on fire in the championship before he left and performed brilliantly this season. Now seems like he’s doing well at Sunderland.

Vaughan also been on top form at Portsmouth.
15 April 2019 at 4:43 pm #178133Have him back anytime……home form is good ,just far too many draws Ipswich being a shocker…..League table tells it all.

Our home form is decent. I do get your point nuneaton about seeing out games. Had we have seen out at least 3 or 4 away games from winning positions, we wouldn’t be in the predicament we find ourselves in.
16 April 2019 at 12:11 am #178146It might be interesting if us and millwall need a point on the last day to stay up to relegate Rotherham.
Really hope were both safe by then but lets get enough points before. -
