      Absolutely diabolical, that today.

Too many changes….Martinez has shot himself in the foot. Moans about our players being tired from playing too many games…..

…well now we’ve another game to play, a midweek replay at Dean Court. What an absolute masterstroke!

Instead of playing a strong team and winning 2 or 3 nil, he played a weak side that was absolutely dire, struggled, and at times made a League One side look like Brazil. Granted, they are a decent League One side on a great run of form.

No doubt, when we perform abysmally in the league game after the cup replay, he will use the ‘too many games….jaded’ excuse…..

oh, piss off Roberto! Stop taking the piss out of us fans. Here’s some observations from today:

      1. Boselli is shite. Get Rid. GIVE him away.
      2. McManaman is not good enough. Nor is Redmond.
      3. What exactly do they see in Fyvie? I don’t see anything.
      4. Once we are relegated and the likes of Ramis, McCarthy and Kone leave, we will have that type of side out every week….and will really struggle.
      5. We are far too slow in our build up and do far too many cross field
balls……it’s so boring and pedestrian. I liked how Bouremouth passed it, yet also looked at getting in behind the defence. We don’t do that.
      6. Our squad is NO WAY our best squad in his time here. The squad he got
when he arrived, including Bramble, Scharner and Cattermole was better.
      7. For once today, as the ‘big club’, we got a lot of 50-50 decisions.
      8. Why on earth do we look like the away team, as teams come at us and we sit back? It puzzles me. We ENCOURAGE teams to attack us! Did you not see how far their line was pushing up?
      9. I think Eddie Howe has a decent side there.

No doubt Martinez will put some ‘spin’ on this, yet from the comments I heard whilst leaving the stadium, I think he has lost the majority of the support.

It was terrible, and I don’t think anybody who went can argue otherwise.

ADDENDUM: I thought their players effort was superb and their support was also magnificent. About 3000? Made me think of the days when WE used to have decent away support and went away with a ‘buzz’ about us. I miss those days (Championship).

I was tucked up nice and warm in front of a roaring fire having some quality time with my Son…Priceless ! I am surprised that fans keep giving RM the benefit of the doubt when it comes to cup games ! Take a leaf out of my book and give your family some quality time when it is a cup game, you will feel so much better inside !

Yep, I’m done with cup games whilst he is manager. Hopefully won’t be many more anyway……

I actually went as I was curious about what Bournemouth were like as a side, and I wanted to see how new signings. Well, I saw Henriquez and he looks like he’s not going to be a miracle worker….perhaps thats harsh on an 18 year old, after seeing him for 45 mins, but…..

ROBERTO Martinez will seize the opportunity to ring the changes for Saturday’s FA Cup visit of Bournemouth after admitting the festive programme eventually got the better of Wigan Athletic.

Latics concluded their Christmas schedule with a 4-0 thumping by Manchester United on Tuesday, which came just three days after arguably the best performance of the campaign at Aston Villa.

Four games in the space of 11 days was always going to test one of the smallest squads in the Premier League – particularly with injuries and illness also biting.

And the Wigan boss hopes some players who haven’t been starting of late will be looking at the visit of the Cherries as their chance to play their way into his thinking.

“The players are all approaching this run of games with a very positive attitude and they want to make an impact to help the team,” Martinez acknowledged.

“Ronnie (Stam), Jordi (Gomez) and Callum (McManaman) all showed good signs when they came on against United.

“But overall it was too much to ask of the squad to compete over 90 minutes with a United team full of quality and, more significantly, fresh legs.

“We have been able to take the opportunity to freshen our midfield combination up in the last week.

“James McArthur was rested at Aston Villa and David Jones was given a break on Tuesday because he was suffering with a virus and had to take antibiotics.

“We needed to share the demands of that midfield partnership, and over the next few weeks hopefully we can keep refreshing players in a big point in our season.”

Saturday’s line-up should include the likes of Stam, Gomez, McManaman, Fraser Fyvie and Mauro Boselli, while Angelo Henriquez is in line to make his debut after joining on loan from Manchester United.

Tickets remain on sale for the FA Cup third-round tie, with fans reminded that only the Springfield Stand (reserved seating) and the Boston Stand (unreserved seating) will be open.

I heard the usual patters about Gomez which I think is unfair he hardly got the ball for 90 minutes.

Stam on the other hand got a lot of the ball and once again could do absolutely nothing with it but either feck his cross up or pass it back to Boyce.

Can believe that man won Dutch titles he is terrible.

Bournemouth had a fairly good game plan for them today soaking up the early pressure to come out and attack and they look like a very good side for their level.

I cant argue that we were not poor today because we really were not good enough but Boselli is last on my blame list.

Absolutely no service for him whatsoever no through balls or crosses which is exactly what he needs to score goals.

good post Appley Bridge I couldn’t have put it better.
No energy, drive or enthusiasm and I was disgusted at the attitude of our players today -billy fekin big times the lot of them!
The Bournemouth supporters were excellent and got the atmosphere going and credit to them for travelling in such numbers just after Christmas.
I think it’s time for Our chairman to kick some backsides again!
