it was an insult to AFC and the tremendous following that came to the DW,players strolling about like Billy Big Bollocks and getting loads of money.Well they shouldnt get paid for that dross today.

      Absolutely diabolical, that today.

Too many changes….Martinez has shot himself in the foot. Moans about our players being tired from playing too many games…..

…well now we’ve another game to play, a midweek replay at Dean Court. What an absolute masterstroke!

Instead of playing a strong team and winning 2 or 3 nil, he played a weak side that was absolutely dire, struggled, and at times made a League One side look like Brazil. Granted, they are a decent League One side on a great run of form.

ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON. MARTINEZ HAS GOT WHAT HE DESERVES (WHAT HE LEAST WANTED) – A REPLAY ! CONGRATULATIONS.

ALL FOR GIVING YOUNG UNS A CHANCE, BUT 9 CHANGES AGAIN (HAVE WE NOT LEARNED AFTER BCFC UPSET (BOURNEMOUTH A BETTER TEAM))

5 /6 CHANGES OK, GET AN EARLY GOAL OR TWO AND THEN SUB 1/2/3

No doubt, when we perform abysmally in the league game after the cup replay, he will use the ‘too many games….jaded’ excuse…..

oh, piss off Roberto! Stop taking the piss out of us fans. Here’s some observations from today:

AGREED. ROTATION POLICY (MAGNITUDE OF) DISRESPECTFUL TO THE PAYING WIGAN PUBLIC… 5.500 HARDY SOULS TURNED UP (POST BCFC).. EXPECTED MUCH BETTER

      1. Boselli is shite. Get Rid. GIVE him away.

ABSOLUTELY – WOULD PAY HIM OFF /GET SHUT OF NOW – HE’S NOT INTERESTED
WHO ON EARTH WAS OUR SCOUT DOWN IN ARGENTINA ???

      2. McManaman is not good enough. Nor is Redmond.

      McMAN DID OK 1ST HALF

      3. What exactly do they see in Fyvie? I don’t see anything.

      NOT A LOT

      4. Once we are relegated and the likes of Ramis, McCarthy and Kone leave, we will have that type of side out every week….and will really struggle.

      5. We are far too slow in our build up and do far too many cross field
balls……it’s so boring and pedestrian. I liked how Bouremouth passed it, yet also looked at getting in behind the defence. We don’t do that.

      6. Our squad is NO WAY our best squad in his time here. The squad he got
when he arrived, including Bramble, Scharner and Cattermole was better.

      7. For once today, as the ‘big club’, we got a lot of 50-50 decisions.

THE REF GOT US A REPLAY
      2 KEY PENALTY AREA DECISIONS
WITHOUT GOMEZ PENALTY, NEVER GOING TO SCORE IN A MONTH OF SUNDAYS

      8. Why on earth do we look like the away team, as teams come at us and we sit back? It puzzles me. We ENCOURAGE teams to attack us! Did you not see how far their line was pushing up?

AGAIN, WE DROP OFF IN THE BUILD UP TO 1ST GOAL, NO-ONE CHARGING DOWN
      THE B’MTH GOALSCORER

      9. I think Eddie Howe has a decent side there.

AGREED – ON THE PITCH AT THE END WITH PLAYERS ACKNOWLEDGING
      THE TRAVELLING SUPPORTERS

No doubt Martinez will put some ‘spin’ on this, yet from the comments I heard whilst leaving the stadium, I think he has lost the majority of the support.

It was terrible, and I don’t think anybody who went can argue otherwise.

WASN’T TERRBILE, BUT A BLOODY DISGRACE … LETHARGIC, LACKING IN
      DESIRE, WILL TO WIN ETC.

ADDENDUM: I thought their players effort was superb and their support was also magnificent. About 3000? Made me think of the days when WE used to have decent away support and went away with a ‘buzz’ about us. I miss those days (Championship).

      OTHER COMMENTS :

      – TWO PLAYERS ONLY EARNED THEIR APPEARANCE MONEY TODAY – GOLABART/GOMEZ

      – EXTREMELY CONCERNED WHERE OUR GOALS ARE COMING FROM
      = BOSSELLI – FFS …. GO
= HENRIQUEZ – NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO TRAP A FOOTBALL FIRST

= I’D BE OUT SPLASHING THE CASH ON A STRIKER (SPECULATE TO ACCUMULATE)
TO OPTIMISE OUR CHANCES OF STICKING AROUND IN THE MONEY LEAGUE INTO
      NEXT YEAR

      – VERY CONCERNED RE. PL SURVIVAL – IF RECENT ANYTHING TO GO BY …

FAVOURITE AWAY DAY OUT (NOT), FULHAM, NEXT UP (MORE MISERY ??? …)

It was totally expected, reserve team, shit crowd, only problem is that there is now a replay, midweek and you couldn’t get much further away, a joke really.

The worrying thing is that this is our 2nd string, they are supposed to be back up for injured/suspended players in the premier league, and they can’t even put away a lower league team when at home.

No point moaning about it though, we knew what was coming, anyway, I decided to pick a different team to cheer for just for the FA cup, a team that might actually have a go, so Huddersfield were chosen off the top of my head and they enjoyed an away win at Charlton and will look forward to the 4th round draw, I think a top 4 prem team away will be just the ticket, see if Beckford can repeat his heroics at old Trafford the other year. I’d suggest to anyone else that wants to piss an moan about Latics not giving a shit, just pick a different team to cheer for then, it’s easy!

I thought Redmond was one of our better players in the first half. Took his man on and constantly got the ball into the box. Tracked back well and read the play well. Better than a certain first teamer who plays that role. Golobart looked pretty decent too.

Said on Tuesday that Callum won’t make it as a PL player. If he was that good he would have been signed by one of the big clubs by now.

Stam was awful. Worst game for us this season. Didn’t look at all interested and did well to last the 90.

What frustrates me about our play is how slow it is. Player in space on wing, player with ball in middle. Instead of one quick ball to the wing to stretch the defence we need two passes to the defence before it reaches him thus allowing the defence to move across and the player in space is no longer in space and we have to go backwards again. Oh, and why on Earth do we not shoot when we have time and space????? It looks well when the f*cking CB had more shots than the forwards.

Eggy, that could have been me saying 99% of that. Not sure Redmond was quite as good as you thought but other than that…

What the fek are you girls babbling on about?

Look, you knew he was going to field a load of fringe players, you knew that Bournemouth would have been up for the battle, irrespective of what league they are in [we’ve been there don’t forget], you knew there would be no atmosphere rousted up by the sparse home crowd, you knew bobby doesn’t really put these cup games as a high priority…so why the fekin dummies being spat out you bunch of moaning tworts.

Dave once again yer fingers have gone into gear before your brain. Calm down lad and stop quoting fekin end of season points tally having just seen a bunch of fringe players drawing a cup game.

That’s about as much as I’m going to say on the topic if you really want to carry on moaning please feel free and I’ll log back in about wednesday.

I see Everton didn’t take any such chances by fielding an inexperienced side despite their squad being as threadbare as ours ! Job done and relax !

Different priorities Phil. We want to test players out while they’re going to have a go at trying to win it.

                Managers’ choices.

Looks like I’m going to have to keep posting this quote until it gets through:

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez defended his team selection for their 1-1 FA Cup draw against Bournemouth.

Martinez made nine changes at the DW Stadium and could only salvage a 1-1 draw after going behind to the League One outfit.

The Spaniard said: “I do show the FA Cup respect.

“There are youngsters here I feel have a bright future, but we will never accelerate their development unless we play them in these competitions.

“That is what we have to do at this club.

“I don’t just want to win games in the short term.

“The first team has to be part of a learning process. Fighting relegation is not an environment for youngsters to show what they can do.”

Moyes did say that his priorities were to try and maintain a top 4 or 5 place in the league ! I just think that we could have progressed easily enough with a stronger side and then not had the hassle of a long trip to Bournemouth !

ROBERTO Martinez will seize the opportunity to ring the changes for Saturday’s FA Cup visit of Bournemouth after admitting the festive programme eventually got the better of Wigan Athletic.

Latics concluded their Christmas schedule with a 4-0 thumping by Manchester United on Tuesday, which came just three days after arguably the best performance of the campaign at Aston Villa.

Four games in the space of 11 days was always going to test one of the smallest squads in the Premier League – particularly with injuries and illness also biting.

And the Wigan boss hopes some players who haven’t been starting of late will be looking at the visit of the Cherries as their chance to play their way into his thinking.

“The players are all approaching this run of games with a very positive attitude and they want to make an impact to help the team,” Martinez acknowledged.

“Ronnie (Stam), Jordi (Gomez) and Callum (McManaman) all showed good signs when they came on against United.

“But overall it was too much to ask of the squad to compete over 90 minutes with a United team full of quality and, more significantly, fresh legs.

“We have been able to take the opportunity to freshen our midfield combination up in the last week.

“James McArthur was rested at Aston Villa and David Jones was given a break on Tuesday because he was suffering with a virus and had to take antibiotics.

“We needed to share the demands of that midfield partnership, and over the next few weeks hopefully we can keep refreshing players in a big point in our season.”

David Jones on antibiotics because of a virus?
Telling us a little porky there Roberto?
