      Agreed

But for a great save by their keeper from Franco and being unlucky on another occassion we would have been 3 nil up

Where is Griff and Jonny boy to help me out when backs are agen the wall with the dark siders attacking – no where to be seen unfortunatly

Griff & Jonny et al do the sensible thing & keep off the site & let the DS get on with it. If it stuck to one after match post then they may appear. Sadly the front page gets filled with drivel & shite with numerous posts all repeating to fade of Booby this, Dave Whelan that, we are doomed, we will be better off in the Championship etc etc. This has been going on for 7 years with the various managers we have had.

As I have said they will return when the dust settles to pick apart the shite of the post match drivel. Meanwhile they will be out on the lash or at home with loved ones. B)

I am far from a darksider but even I would concede that sometimes the inconsistency of the team will fall onto consistent whinging from the fans.

Which is understandable B_A_H. However, when the talk turns to we are getting relegated & maybe relegated again But it will be great because the football was much better in the Championship, League 1/2 delete as applicable.
Some people think we should be in the upper echelons of the Premiership not the Relegation fodder that we have become. Until DW sells the club to a Saudi Prince looking for a new toy then we have settle for what we are in footballing terms. DW’s approach, rightly or wrongly is to cut the cloth accordingly.
These same people who want him to buy a striker for £8million for example would be the ones berating him when the bubble burst & we are destitue ala Rangers.

Thats were Whelan deserves credit, we only need to look at a club like blackburn to see that things could get worse very quickly.

My concern is that if there is a player RM wants, and genuinly feels that they could help us improve, we are missing out on majority of targets because player x costs 4 million, yet DW will only pay out 3 or 3.5 …or more so the case lately, loan them in first. Where do we go from there?

B A H we are in an awkward position regarding transfers and your right in your statement but it is necessary to curb spending for the future of the club.Mr Whelan could throw a lot more money at players fee,s wages etc if like all the other clubs he expected the fans to pay for them. Our season ticket prices are ridiculously low compared to others so we dont generate the money needed. If he doubled the cost next year to make more money available to Robbie I wonder how many would not renew. We dont get many TV games so there.s another shortfall.Folk keep saying what if QPR go down coz of their wild spending well it wont matter anyway when financial fair play kicks in they will be fooked. The media has given us this small club with no fans stigma and we simply cannot attract the players we would like.We can hold the chairman and the manager responsible for our plight but if truth be told Mr Whelan is in a no win situation and Roberto has probably the hardest job in the PL.

B_A_H, the issue isn’t with us not offering the asking price – because we do and have the bids accepted.

The issue is with players not wanting to join us.

We’re unattractive and there’s not much Whelan or anyone can do about that.

PS. Taz, thanks for holding fort!

I cant help but feel we don’t though Standish, I dont know why, I just can’t. How long as a club can we last if what you say be true.

Unfortunately it’s the way it is with Wigan. We’ll have to remain in the PL for a good few years before anyone will consider us a safe bet.

We met the asking price for both Stones and McGeady this transfer window, but on both occasions they pulled out or went to a bigger club.

As I’ve said via social media – transfer windows for Wigan fans are like going to a swingers’ party, chucking your car keys in with everyone else, and then leaving with your own f’cking wife.

haha crackin statement, made me chuckle.

We can only ever be assured of being a safebet if we improve, so how do we improve? I can’t see how unless we bring in another gem of a transfer, and with the darksiders ready on alert, how long will they get before they become another Gomez?

That’s the million dollar question my friend. I’m not a football coach, so I don’t know how we can improve. Although we played badly today, I honestly don’t think we aren’t a million miles away from being okay.

As you’ve said, Southampton – enjoying new manager syndrome and in a decent run of form, haven’t been given enough credit.

I think we are capable of a good run, and me myself I can see it starting at Chelsea, there not ones for turning up at home since Benitez took over and I think they could be there for the taking, I just hope the FA cup game doesnt do us any harm. Looking at previous end of season run ins we’ve come up against big teams quite close to each other, and for me thats when we can and have turned up in style. No better confidence booster for the 6point games than turning up at chelsea or city and getting a result.

That is the first time I’ve seen our so called passing totally nullified by a team who had 11 players giving their all for 90 minutes.
And our answer ? hooof , totally exposed down the right , a midfield who struggled to sling 2 passes together and the quality of the bench said it all.

then I listen to him MOTD , was he on about the Stoke game again ??

worst performance in the second half all season and yet we gained a point.
