Another week starts after another debacle at the weekend and still silence from Royle. Not even the dreaded vote of confidence.
9 December 2019 at 5:01 pm #182749Dave Whelan releases 20 million press statements a week:
“Whelan needs to shut up”
Royle says nothing:
“We need a statement”
The fact they haven’t sacked Cook is the vote of confidence in itself so no need for a pointless press release.
9 December 2019 at 5:59 pm #182750Jackson and Royle obviously don’t give a flying about the club or its supporters. Either the owner doesn’t give a toss or these 2 stooges are either spineless, keeping him uninformed or both!!! Simple business sense to pay him off and try to avoid the financial chasm that awaits in league 1. Maybe they’re willing to gamble on saving the dosh and hoping he turns it round. I for one think that’s a ridiculously risky head in the sand strategy with only one outcome. Like a lot of other supporters I’m staggered at the perilous situation we find ourselves in and these dicks removed the firing pin from the trigger last December and looks now like they’ve lost it.
9 December 2019 at 7:06 pm #182751Like I have said elsewhere on the site; why don’t we have a mass silence on Wednesday night ! If not for the whole game, for ten minutes at the very least !
9 December 2019 at 7:59 pm #182752Simple business sense to pay him off and try to avoid the financial chasm that awaits in league 1.Using our accounts from either of the last two times we were relegated having sacked managers, can you provide an example of that please?
9 December 2019 at 8:21 pm #182754One day you will listen delboy. Not happening!
9 December 2019 at 8:56 pm #182755You two really are cringeworthy…..Big Roy’s continually defended the indefensible…….and can’t post anything to convince us that he needs to continue.Try it,you might persuade us. Must still be gagging on that humongous pice of humble pie. You and your fellow clapper Super Stu have blindly supported Cook going back to last season it was plainly obvious he’s was failing .Proof is Stu has seemingly purchased Harry Potters invisibility cloak. 1 or 2 mill pay off……..against 3 or 4 times that in lost revenue……is that too simple for you? Come on Big Roy…….I won’t smirk…..say it Cook Out !!!!
9 December 2019 at 9:16 pm #1827571 or 2 mill pay off……..against 3 or 4 times that in lost revenue……is that too simple for you? Come on Big Roy…….I won’t smirk…..say it Cook Out !!!!Now there you are presuming we stay up with a new manager which we haven’t done the last two times we sacked a manager. You’re also missing the funds needed to pay off the backroom staff, the money we would need to give the new boss to bring in some players he wants and any money needed to bring him to the club such as compensation or a pay rise.
So whilst it may sound easy it is far from “simple business sense” and is actually a bit of a gamble. Thankfully, we have people running the club that actually know what they are doing.
9 December 2019 at 10:40 pm #182761F”””.me you can’t be serious. They know what they’re doing ???…….Warnock,Pullis….5 months…stay up….Cook…..football and financial oblivion
9 December 2019 at 11:26 pm #182762If you think for one second that Pulis or Warnock would come to Wigan or that we could even afford them without breaching FFP (we have crowds of 9000 don’t forget) then you need to quit the afternoon drinking on your day off.
9 December 2019 at 11:32 pm #1827639 December 2019 at 11:34 pm #182765No Derek. Simply telling you Cook won’t be sacked this year. You can waste all your time remonstarting and getting annoyed but I’m simply telling you the facts. Cooks done well for the club.
9 December 2019 at 11:39 pm #182766Dear me Brownbiz still talking utter bollocks I see. Pulis and Warnock   why don’t we go big and try and bring Zidane or Potch in. We couldn’t attract a high.profile manager when we were in the Premier League but now we’re going to bring in two of the best managers at this level. We’ll end up with someone from League One or Nathan Jones. Not exactly the guaranteed survival we need.
FWIW bizzy, I do think we should sack him but I’m nit dumb enough to think we can bring some big name in who will definitely save us and thats the issue. The club have been here before sacking managers and still going down. Costs us a fortune.
9 December 2019 at 11:51 pm #182768Hey ! There you are……..still the man for the job???….Come on you 2….Alltogether now…….Big Roy and yourself…….We’ve been had,we were wrong……Cook out !!!
10 December 2019 at 12:26 am #182771Wrong because cooks spent just over a week in relegation places in championship in two seasons? We will never compete at top end of this league so it’s hardly a surprise. Top 6 at minute comprises of 2 teams with parachute payments (Fulham and West Brom) with the other 4 from huge Cities (Sheffield, Nottingham, Bristol and Leeds). Look at our accounts. We are skint. Owners lack direction. Attendances have always been shite and all we will do is hang on in this league. Cook obviously ain’t pulling up any trees but let’s not pretend anyone would do that much better. Might get to 14th at best but that will be as good as it gets. I’m telling you he won’t be sacked as the owners aren’t prepared to pay him up and believe he’s done a decent job over last few seasons and deserves a bit of loyalty. We aren’t playing terribly but confidence towards the end of games is constantly tripping us up. I can’t think of more than a few games all season where we have played badly.
