As Freddie at Arsenal, Parkinson at Sunderland and even O’Neil at Stoke are proving, a new manager doesn’t necessarily guarantee a change of fortune. And we can’t just give the keys of our wonderful club to just anyone, especially after investing so much at the grass roots level and its bearing fruit.

Unfortunately though, Cook does seem to be at his limit and the constant clutching defeat from the jaws of victory has to come down to Cook, his game management and the general coaching and organisation of the team.

We’re between a rock and a hard place at the moment and perhaps thats why the club is so silent.

Onto Wednesday, I like to see us approach it like a cup tie, kick anything in green and yellow that moves, 5 at the back, early crosses whipped into Moore who has gambled correctly, Naismith as sweeper (ouch!) and Joffy with a 93rd minute winner!

      Not too hard is it?

Arsenal were 1-0 down when I started typing this!

Oh Ffs Roy……We aren’t playing terribly???….Do you actually go ??….Hardly any efforts on goal in 90 mins in most games, can’t score, cant defend embarrassing manager booked 3 times already . Should have been 3 down at lowly Luton within 1st 10 mins. Apart from Leeds ,West Brom all very average and we cant even beat the very average. We have a squad that no matter how you play it down is massively underperforming. Fitness a major issue too.Look way below fitness levels of everyone we play.Blackburn,Preston spent a lot less, squads no stronger than ours and top 10 for both…..Its down to a useless manager……we know there’s no guarantee a new man can turn it round but he cant do any worse…..34 away and 2 wins….2 pts from last 24…..2nd lowest scorers….etc,etc…….No we haven’t played well in 80% of our games…..just the opposition not great……and still lose.

You would never admit we played well anywhere. Bristol City away we were excellent and you still complained I recall. We are one of the smallest teams in the league with less of an income than both Blackburn and Preston. To suggest only West Brom and Leeds are stronger than us is bloody ridiculous. Reading paid 10 million for a striker from Inter Milan FFS. How can we compete with that?

You’d have us in the conference……being such an insubstantial little club…As I said we’ve been poor and let average sides dick us….Derby stands out. Cooks negativity cost us the match.Stoke who are poor stuffed us.Cooks best team in league Brentford too a team that was so fantastic they’d won 6 and lost 6 hardly
breathtaking. Brentford then went to Rovers and lost followed by defeats in our winnable games Reading and Luton. No. Leeds/West Brom are a cut above football wise ,the rest are separated by very little. 4 weeks ago were 6 point off play offs ,now after another series of shockers were f&&&&&&……and still you try justify our position by playing us down. How will we ever achieve anything with supporters like you and a defeatest manager like Cook. We should be happy just to exist hey ????

In some respects yes. Who knows where we would be today if Whelan hadn’t stepped in 20-odd years ago.

If some on here and the likes of Facebook were allowed to run us we wouldn’t exist.

Jackson and Royle obviously don’t give a flying about the club or its supporters.

This the same Jonathan Jackson who’s been a home and away supporter all his life, whose dad was a director and sponsor of the club, who travelled to Ibrox last season by standing with his son on a packed train with the rest of the supporters, and who has been plugging the leaks and keeping the club afloat for the past nine years?

                That one you mean?

Since when has crowd size and wealth ever stopped this brilliant club from having success. We won things long before Uncle Dave waved his magic wand and took us all on the most fantastic journey. It’s in our DNA to upset the applecart. The problems we have are purely down to one thing a manager who at present cant manage. If one or two players badly run out of steam you can put that down to individuals. When the whole squad fades badly at the end of every game that’s down to coaching. It’s not about how many seats are filled or how much we have not spent it’s about the work on the training field which is obviously shite. We didn’t do too bad on crowds of 1200 playing on a mud bath. We could still play good football and occasionally have good seasons. If you have a good manager you have a chance whatever your circumstances you only have to look at poor old Bury last season to prove that. Our fortunes will not change until the coaching staff are changed.

We are currently upsetting the apple cart by being in the division we are in. Under Dave Whelan we would more than likely have breached FFP and if we were to run the club the way some on here suggest we would again breach FFP.

Fair point Standish…..so if that’s the case then he must have been neutered, influence wise .He must be feeling it just like the rest of us but like us powerless to do whats needed. So does that put Invisible Darren at the Helm ? Whoever wields the power below Mr Choi is impotent and as some poster stated last December “the club is sleep walking into oblivion”. All this about Ffp is valid but how many clubs have swerved prosecution by finding ways round it,legally ? Quite a few i’d say……The on field state is pitiful and no one can possibly keep defending Cook…….Put him on Gardening leave and promote the groundsman or anyone to manager because his touchline bookings just compound how he’s completely lost the plot.
