Sunderland showed some spirit to get a point. But they will now be without Gardener, presumably for three games, as well as Sessegnon (also suspended) and Fletcher (injured). They face Southampton and Spurs – it won’t be easy.
A win tomorrow will take Wigan to 38 points, equal on points with Newcastle, Norwich and Sunderland, and above Newcastle and Norwich on goal difference. Roll on Tuesday!
Really, how bad are Stoke? ….
They can’t pass it 5 yards, they are dreadful.
I want them to win and hopefully they will…..
But you wouldn’t bet on em !
I posted this elsewhere but what you say is spot on, so I will add my bit here as well.
They are probably safe with a point tonight, but Stoke are by far the worst side by a country mile in the premier league, and that includes QPR and Reading and any others at the bottom.
They are by far the least skilful team, they can’t string three passes together before they hoof it up to the ineffective Crouch and Jerome, one who looks totally disinterested, the other just clueless.
The midfield of Adam, Nzonzi and Whitehead are bypassed all the time and watching them when Stoke do actually have possession you can fully understand why.
The only saving grace for them is they have a top class keeper and pretty good defence.
We can offer a multitude of reasons why we are in the relegation places at the moment, bad luck, bad refereeing, the worst injury situation we have had in 10 years, and at times we have been pretty poor as well, and that may ultimately lead to us going down, but for Christ’s sake I would take all of that with pleasure if someone said to me, you can stay up, win the cup but play like Stoke do week in week out.
