5 January 2010 at 8:31 pm #17243Ooohhhhh, you little bitch!!!
5 January 2010 at 9:23 pm #17247I didn’t go on saturday, first home game ive missed in about 12 years. Am i a JCL? Some season ticket holders remember a promise of a free FA Cup game to compensate us for all the offers to non season ticket holders over the years. Hence a major no show on saturday.

Hence a major no show on saturday. If you ave been going for 12 years you should know better than most that Whelan is the best thing to have happened to wigan ath………….
So why cut off yer nose to spite yer face?
5 January 2010 at 10:32 pm #17265Cos i wanted to, my choice. And i obviously was not alone. And ive been going for 42 years, last home game i missed was about 12 years ago.
5 January 2010 at 10:34 pm #17266I’m confused now – you’re the drummer but you’ve been going for 42 years
“Grow up” springs to mind ;)
5 January 2010 at 10:49 pm #17272I’ll try again on this thread just like on a few others….
Clubs CAN NOT give free tickets for FA Cup games and no-one has ever promised they would.
“20. ADMISSION TO MATCHES – SALE OF TICKETS
(a) All persons including Season Ticket Holders must be charged admission to the ground,
enclosure and stands in all matches”“(c) Immediately after the draw is known, the two Clubs concerned must mutually agree the
prices of admission subject to the following conditions:
(i) Except where mutually agreed otherwise the minimum admission (except to children
and senior citizens) to matches shall be:
……..In the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Round Proper: £15.00”It’s FA rules – nothing at all to do with Whelan.
How many more times…..?
(and tbh even if he had promised it then that is the weakest excuse I’ve ever heard for not supporting your team. I have no problem whatsoever if there was some other reason. Just be honest instead of “Whelan promised something so I’m taking me ball home….”)
5 January 2010 at 10:58 pm #17273He was there, just minus the drum.

If he’d brought the drum we would of been drowned out. Only a 1/3 of ES2 showed up ;)
6 January 2010 at 2:29 pm #17325He was there, just minus the drum.Vouched for.

Used to be all chocolate soldier uniforms and ‘Parum-pa-pa-pum’, but these days he looks more like Phil Collins. Age creeps up on us all.
6 January 2010 at 10:12 pm #17357It isnt the cost that kept me away and im absolutely sure the club would have dropped the price if it could have done .it is the lack of interest shown in this once great knockout competion by the top clubs in the PL.It has been going on for years especially since the big money came into the game at the top end and im sick and tired of it.
The FA cup has been totally devalued and i noticed an article in the press with a picture of the Latics game highlighting this point so the stayaways obviously touched a nerve.
This was once a great knockout and has been won many times by underdogs (West Ham 1980(div 2) Southampton 1976(div 2) Sunderland 1973(div 2) )but it is now dominated by the big(yawnnnnnnnn) four.
I like many Wiganers thought b@llocks to it and before anyone calls me a JCL my first game was in the 1978-79 season. The FA cup has had its day and TV and money are killing it off -VERY VERY SAD. -
