Did you not see him totally nullify the premier leagues best performing player this season at WHL?
Phil Neville has nullified Bale twice but that doesn’t make him a World beater ! Its all about being consistent when your a defender and I am afraid to say that Stam is far from consistent ! Maybe a good defensive coach could whip him into shape because he goes AWOL more often than not !

No need to mention other players, the question was “can you name a good game he has had” and I think i answered it. ;)
TBH, I don’t really rate him as a fullback, even though we signed him as one, to me he’s played his best games in front of Boycey in midfield, wern’t that where he played against tottingham.
But against Fulham we were a lot better (not hard) in the second half when stam seemed to playing in the centre of midfield. presumably sent there by the manager who never makes tactical changes. Strangley enough when he was taken off that was when the problems started. thats how i saw it, but as i have said before, I know nowt.

this part of the cockney latic report -nothing about bale being “nullyfied” there
Gareth Bale was proving why he is getting so much praise as he kept attacking Wigan down the left. His crosses which were met by Defoe and Crouch were dealt with by the impressive Ali Al Habsi in the Wigan goal.
Al Habsi proved to be a key player in Wigan’s victory, pulling off fantastic saves and keeping the Wigan defence in order for the full 90 minutes.
Ronnie Stam, who played on the right hand side of midfield, provided much needed attacking support for the Latics but at the same time ensured that Boyce was not left exposed by Bale and Lennon.
from spurswebs match report it perhaps it was “nullyfy” X 2
Wigan played five across the middle and doubled up on Lennon and Bale. We never had the wit, pace or played with the tempo needed to create the space required to make an opening.
