Wigan played five across the middle and doubled up on Lennon and Bale. We never had the wit, pace or played with the tempo needed to create the space required to make an opening
I seem to recall LMB praising “The Spanish one ” for this game in nullifieing the Bale and Lennon partnership

i did but can you recall me saying stam had a good game ?
stam is ok if he has no pressure on him – he is a replacement utility player at best -he isnt the best right full back we have, and he is probably the 3/4th best right midfielder,he would not be a starter in any game if not for injuries- in fact i stick by what i said, name me a game when he has stood out as having a ‘good-un’.

I remain the eternal optimist……..glass is always half full – (I drink with some ‘ducking and diving’ tightarse gets ;) )
….and as that optitmist I will continue to upset the West Stand ‘tutters and huffers’….I may even join in with the older crew that sing the old ‘Springy chants’ ………. ;)
