Not that far behind mighty Burton despite dropping six points in the last three games.We could even make a play-off push after Christmas. Main positive so far this season seems to be stopping the slide.
Really, yet another toothless performance against 11 it must be just me but perkins and power do nothing in midfield for me and that’s why are defence are under pressure all the time
Dont mind Perkins but why did Junior not start instead of Power? Mind you the manager knows best. Do not question the Coaches.
I thought Power and Perkins both put a good shift in again today, we nullified a good Walsall team.
The stand out player again for me is Jacobs, what a signing he has been, running for 90 mins and never looks back always forward. Daniels gave us a bit of the old Lee Mac outlet and did quite well.
I too expected Junior to start, but I’ll give Caldwell his due, he doesn’t try to rush players back from injury.

Jussie has a good solid game in goal and runs his box superbly like an extra player after the sending off.Final comment – bury next week and a tight little ground with a good away following – can see a win there

Positives. Junior is our class in midfield while he’s here, we’ll look better when he’s playing, he would have got on but for the sending off, arguably should have started. The lad from Middlesbrough will be a good player for us while he’s here. Get Davies back we’ll look better. If he was match fit and 100% alert Grigg would have got a couple. Jacobs is immense and was our attacking impetus. Donervan Daniels, who’d have thought it our new overlapping full back, looking good. Reece James, getting better each game and has more than a touch of the Leighton Baines about him. Clean sheet with 10 men and a new keeper, fairly confident we would have won but for a sending off. Going forward with pace and directness scares all these teams. If they’re 2nd and unbeaten away we have absolutely nothing to fear.
Negatives. Slow build up again particularly first half, got to go more direct, Barnett still scares the life out of me, Perkins and Power together isn’t going to see us winning regularly in fact I thiink regrettably Perkins is going backwards in more ways than one. Breaks up play well but can’t pass to a team mate, watch him pre-match too. Without the captain for 3 games, not sure where we’d get with an appeal but surely the lad bangs the ball forward and at no point does he have a goal scoring opportunity as JJ collects the ball, not to mention their yellow in the first half which looked more goal threatening.

At last I have found someone who thinks perkins isn’t the player everyone thinks he his. So glad I’m not alone. Get Mcann in midfield when we have all our defenders available and we will look a lot better. Mcann and junior in the middle for me

Junior I agree should be starting maybe today was one game to much
I don’t know about dropped but you’re definitely under estimating how many people are seeing him as a hard working one trick pony.
It has been said before that many Latics fans are more than happy with such a player, think poor mans Espinoza with less end product.
