27 April 2011 at 12:44 am #64191I hope Stoke win the FA cup then when we play them they’ll be in party mode and we get the 3points and look forward to a seventh year in the prem!
27 April 2011 at 1:28 am #64193After watching the Stoke match tonight, I can’t see Wolves getting another point. They looked like a team already resigned to relegation no matter how positive the Irish- Yorkshire man may have come across on his SSN interview today.
On another note, the little shyte Hunt should have got a straight red for a blatent kick out at Robert Huth. :xFrom Matlock to ManU
What a journey!27 April 2011 at 1:39 am #64196Either way on that final day, brittania will resemble a battle field.

27 April 2011 at 10:00 am #64216You are displaying increasingly worrying military tendencies of late, Corporal Walker
27 April 2011 at 10:43 am #64217Stoke are now safe in the league and can put all their effort into winning the cup and resting key players prior to the cup final.
Whilst it looks good for the last game of the season, I wouldnt expect a full-strength Stoke side to appear in a league match again this season. They lost Hetherington last night and will be keen not to lose many more when they face sides who are prepared to scrap for every ball.
Next up they are at Blackpool…

Why would it matter to us if they rest players for the FA Cup final? We play them the week after.
27 April 2011 at 12:44 pm #64222Stoke away is a very difficult last match. We need to be safe by then and imo we will be.
For me, Wolves and Blackpool are doomed. For us to go down I think West Ham will have to get 7 points from their last 3 games. As one of those games is at the DW we can stop them.

On 14 May, Stoke have their biggest game in living memory. They want to keep their players fit for that game so they rest a few and those that play will be mindful of the need to avoid injury. They play Blackpool this weekend who are scrapping for their lives, so do you really think that anyone who will be on the pitch at Wembley will put 120% into this game and risk injury?
Last game of the season, they play Wigan. That is after the cup final and their next game after that is mid-August, so it doesnt matter as much if someone is carrying a knock or a strain because they get 2-3 months to rest it afterwards. They’ll put a very strong side out that day.
Do you get it now?

Hmm, you may have a point.Except that last night, Stoke put in their best performance of the season (their manager’s words, not mine) against Wolves – a team who, correct me if I’m wrong, are scrapping for their lives.
Let me know if you need me to slow down for you

I get it perfectly thanks. You said Stoke wouldn’t field a full strength side again this season, so as to save their best players for the FA Cup. Bat seeing as we only playthem afterwards, they then have no reason to keep their strongest team off the field.

Last night, Stoke were not guarranteed a Premier League spot next season. Now they have got 42 pts, they are.
Also, isnt there some “history” between Stoke & Wigan – something to do with disrespecting a minute’s silence for the late Stanley Matthews.
