Unbeaten in 15 is it! You can’t knock that sort of form in this division!

I just said we haven’t done bad with it. I suppose I am just presuming that with a little more consistency in selection and style we may have done better but that’s just an opinion and not science.

Sounds like you’re stressing & worrying about it donny. Just relax & everything will be alreet. Like me you have supported this club for the same length of time so will have seen good times, bad times, worrying times & ecstatic times. Just enjoy the ride. I am.

Its funny though remembering back to going in me dads car and picking up grandad in Coppull and some of his owd mates there we’re some humdinger arguments on the way back. Things never change.

Everything seemed so simple with the game back then.
It always seemed to be the same team with the same formation every week, with both teams going for goals and trying to entertain (apart from Stafford Rangers and their off side trap).

The arguments were great though as kids, especially when it got heated and a bit of swearing happened. I can always remember the oldies running out of breath before they managed to get all their sentences out, not daring to stop coz it would give one of the others chance to jump in. Ee bi gum it were reet gud back then in’t thowd days.

I remember Stafford coming to Springfield Park time wasting for 90 minutes till we scored right at the death and Maurice Whittle sat on the ball after we scored the winner to get his own back.

There used to be massive boos when the ball was back passed to the keeper. Now if we do it the player gets a clap. A sideways pass was something that was done either in desperation or for time wasting. Long balls are now frowned upon but what makes a defender struggle most is a ball played over him or through him and he is facing his keeper. In Hoddles day and Jeff Wrights even this was skillfull passing, now it’s big boot. Left and right backs used to overlap with wingers, now they are wingers and wingers are called forward players. Best Law and Charlton played as forwards for Man Utd with two wingers. Wow a return to that would be interesting. Nowadays we won’t even play Grigg with Davies.

Bad result last night Walsall winning but we’re still second and it’s in our own hands at the moment(don’t know how long for though). This is our blimp at the mo with all these draws and we’re still unbeaten so it can’t be all bad can it.Wins will come our way again soon I hope.

Too many recent draws could cost us dearly come May.We unbeaten in 15, Walsall shocking recent form( 2 wins in 8)but now level on points. Can’t help feeling we should be a few points clear of the chasing pack.Burton’s 4 draws against our 14 puts them deservedly top.

We will trounce Bradford but we can not be reliant on others beating our promotion rivals. Fleetwood lost to Walsall last night but if we do not get promoted it will be down to terrible results at home to Doncaster, Blackpool,Oldham Peterborough and the points we have dropped in those games and not the results our rivals get. Basically if we do not go up this time it will be down to a glorious opportunity squandered and not bad luck but with thirty points to play for and the best squad in the league no one can even be worrying can they?

Lets have a bit more positivity boys!. :cheer:

Why not look at it this way, despite our recent mediocre run of form, we are still in an auto promotion place. I bet you Walsall, Gillingham, Millwall, Coventry, Sheff U etc would swap places with us. Some of these clubs were several points clear of us not that long ago.

All the leading contenders have now played the same number of games so its let the battle commence time, none of this if they win that or if they lose that. We just have to gain the same number of points from the remaining games, as those teams immediately behind us.

Is that possible?, you bet yer life it is. In addition, is there a chance that Burton may hit a brick wall before the end of the season?, well with suspensions and injuries, course they could.
This board is awash with negativity when we drop points and is virtually poster free when we win. Some of the serial moaners have virtually disappeared since we hit the top two.
For starters, let’s beat Bradford Saturday and put an end to their auto promotion challenge. :)

On the other hand we have got 30 points over the last 15 games which is 2 points a game which is promotion form
