As soon as he changes it, booosh! it goes pear shaped.

What a journey!18 January 2020 at 8:35 pm #184137He plays for a point, he should have changed it.
He makes attacking subs, he shouldn’t have changed it.

The point is we lose a goal EVERY time he makes changes. Was neither attacking or playing for point change, like for like both players. Garner was doing Ok, Lowe was pants. This is just about the worst performance of the season.

What a journey!18 January 2020 at 8:46 pm #184139The point that John makes is spot on, as I have mentioned elsewhere.
This isn’t just bad luck.
The only way I can rationalise it is that the team aren’t really understanding the changes and what that means for them individually. There is obviously confusion, and until they understand what is required we remain vulnerable.
Why?
Three options:
1. These things and possibilities aren’t being discussed and planned and plotted during the week (“if we are down we will have an attacking formation and X and Y will do this etc”)
2. If a change is made that falls outside these pre-planned changes (and there will be many times that happens) then no-one on the pitch is being informed what it means (when we’re making changes is Morsy there finding out what the thinking is particularly if we’re changing formation other than like-for-like changes? Does anyone ever see players being given instructions?
3. A possibility that can also be alongside 1 and 2 – the players are too thick to understand what is required18 January 2020 at 8:53 pm #184140Not sure you need all that George for a like for like sub. The players still on the pitch do exactly what they have been doing.
JR is right though, but the players have to take some responsibility also for the loss in concentration that occurs. We can’t keep the same 11 out there just to make sure we don’t concede

A draw would have been a good result today tbh
The players coming off look disappointed which indicates to me they are feeling ok. As I said Garner was being is nuiscance self and causing a few problems. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!18 January 2020 at 9:08 pm #184142The two subs were ok. Freshens up the attack but keeps things as they were at the back. Or that’s what should happen.
27 points from winning positions now. Won’t stay up with a record like that.

18 January 2020 at 9:19 pm #184146Can Cook be blamed for losing all 27 points? Some, maybe
18 January 2020 at 9:21 pm #184147He makes attacking subs, he shouldn’t have changed it.Bringing Massey on for the Keeper would not be deemed an attacking substitution.
It is like playing the game with 10 men when that useless pillock is playing.18 January 2020 at 9:22 pm #184149How the fook does Morsey and Evans keep their spot ?. They have got to be the most negative pair of players ever to wear a Latics shirt.
The only time Moresy moved forward or even tried to pass forward was in the last 5 mins.
86 minutes on the clock were in possession on the halfway line. I counted 18 passes sideways and backwards before it was lumped out for a goal kick.
Yep, Kipre and Naismith are playing well but that’s the 4th game on the trot weve conceded 2 goals.
If Evans and Morsey are holding mids to help Kipre and Naismith then there doing a fcukin awful p1ss sh1t poor job.Are both Dowell and William’s any better than some of those lads I watched last night beat Liverpool ??.
We don’t have a money pit so let’s go down trying something different. I wish Morsey had of been booked then he would have missed the next 2 games…
Then Massey comes on ,,, Holy mother of GodsAs long as Cook is in charge were down. On about a manager our his depth, at this level he is clueless

18 January 2020 at 9:48 pm #184154We’ve got a manager out of his depth, why not risk a few players being there as well.?
Byrne scored but didn’t make one decent tackle, everything came from their left. I know Dujon is injured so we are struggling at right back but I like my full backs to be defenders first and decent going forward second.
This is now getting ridiculous, everyone is feeling depressed and not enjoying their football, its took a while to grind me down but I’m down. Warnock has gone public that he would like to get a club till the end of the season, are you listening Royle and Co?From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!18 January 2020 at 10:12 pm #184155We already have players out their depth. Byrne being one.
18 January 2020 at 10:14 pm #184156Everything stems from the middle, protection and bringing it away from the back line and creating chances or, even chipping in with the odd goal. Our midfield is as negative as I’ve ever seen in all my years.
How Evans and Morsey keep their places beyond me. And Garner ?, free header from 5 yard out no pressure he can’t even make the keeper work.
If you don’t believe me next game count how many sideways and back passes Evans and Morsey do its at times funny. On about don’t take a risk football to keep your jersey shockingly bad no risk passes which then lead to pressure on Kipre Naismith. Utter shite Cook jog on will ya you’ve more than done enough damage -
