Without wishing to take the sheen of our respectable defeat to Chelsea and our tremendous win yesterday, I can’t help feel that Bob’s substitution decisions in both games meant that we didn’t quite come away with the best outcome in either game.
At Chelsea I thought that we were good for a 0-0 draw, but the bizarre double sub made us lose our shape and in the 10-15 minutes it took us to adjust thy scored their scrappy winner. I’m still annoyed by that sub decision
Yesterday, bringing on Gomez for the first time in yonks was about as sensible as Holloway playing Gilks in goal. What was the point? Fair do’s he put a deserved elbow into Charlie overhyped Adam, but that foul cost us our clean sheet and a brilliant opportunity to make our GD 2 better than Blackpool’s, equal to Wolves and just 1 off Wet Spam’s.

Griff if you agree with Bob in putting Gomez on the bench then it is you who know’s rag all about football. The guy is useless in two seasons he has shown nothing to suggest that he will ever be able to play at this level.

Nobody is saying that Gomez is good enough to be a regular fixture in the team but if you can’t see that there are circumstances in which he has something to offer – and keeping possession of the ball when it’s needed is one of them – then you really aren’t worth the effort of an explanation.

But he does give the ball away and he can’t tackle he is too slow, need I go on. Victor should have come on a young lad who with match experience will be good enough.

I’ll give you that he’s too slow and can’t tackle but to say he always gives the ball away is just not right.I get that you don’t like him, but facts and story spring to mind here.
