unsavoury incident yesterday and I agree with Ferguson about how dangerous that was-the player seemed smug in interviews after the game. The authorities need to look into this in my view.
There is something about Swansea that is starting to bug me with their gold trimmed kit and some of their faux big time players-seem to have Forgotten their roots something our club and and supporters have never done.24 December 2012 at 2:09 pm #98583Agree wtih that Vince, although saying he could have died, while factually correct, is like saying a swan will break your arm. Could happen, but unlikely.
The lad WAS smug, and as he admitted he lost his temper, that tells me he did it deliberately despite all those Swansea fans on the radio on Talkshyte saying he just sliced it away in frustration. I suppose Williams is the only one who knows for sure, but if I were a betting man…

Play football the right way to boot. Good luck to them.
Old Mr red nose of selective sight, and memory (Kung Fu Cantona etc.). In desperate need of some elocution lessons, or may be it just the drink talking….
Unsavory incident – sure. Could have killed him, broken his neck ? Do me a favour. The old man ought to stop making a complete arse of himself.
24 December 2012 at 2:39 pm #98586What is all the fuss about ? The lad seems sincere enough to me !

all white with trimmed gold -media darlings which grates especially after only two years
Arrogant b@@@ards let’s see them do eight years and keep the feet on the ground24 December 2012 at 2:52 pm #98588Agree wtih that Vince, although saying he could have died, while factually correct, is like saying a swan will break your arm. I like the way you used a Swan for your analogy ;)

Arrogant b@@@ards let’s see them do eight years and keep the feet on the ground[/quote]what most likely grates (you and others) is the fact that they’re on track to have two cracking years in the PL (no one-season wonders), where they like us have had to sell better players and rebuild, …
something they’re currently doing very successfully (league position, new manager, Michu, etc.)full credit to them, play football that is pleasing on the eye, unlike the likes of Stoke City.
their football style and league position currently does the talking for them, they don’t need to rely on ‘fancy kits’ ….
24 December 2012 at 4:13 pm #98590A little jealousy creeping in there, they are doing very well and seem set to be a fixture in the greed league for a few years to come,in michu they have a very talented player who cost peanuts, they seem to be progressing nicely. As for us progressing this season, i will reserve judgement for when Martinez gets his injured players back.merry Xmas all :silly:
24 December 2012 at 4:18 pm #98591From were I was sat it looked pretty clear that Williams wanted to hit RVP. Just played it back 4 or 5 times and he’s actually looking at the ball or RVP head which were about 3 feet apart.
Yes he could have broke his neck quite easily, especially as RVP could not see it coming and therefore would have been relaxed.
If you know someone is going to tvvat you, then its easy to get tensed up and be ready for it, but whilst lied on the floor with your back to the assailant then anything could happen. If I was RVP I wouldn’t wait for the doddering FA to take action, I would be straight on to the police to report an assault. If any of us went up to a lad lying on the floor in King St and kicked him in the head from behind we would be locked up. That was just as bad in my opinion and he should be given a lengthy ban, just like Cantona got.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!24 December 2012 at 4:43 pm #98592Just a few points,Fergie should get his own house in order, the rooney assault on McCarthy before going off on one about other teams players, what about the spanish lad who legged RVP up as he went to confront the player. I agree it was shocking and needs dealing with. Bobby,Bobby,Bobby dont get involved in this spat and consentrate on our own club

Cantona, Keane, Scholes, ….
On the matter of spats, it always amuses me when I see ‘best buddy’ pundits Keane and Southgate together on ITV sport.
Not sure if many of you recall the Manure /Crystal Palace semi-final cup-tie some years back, when Keane stamped on Southgate, who at that time was lying flat out on the floor.
24 December 2012 at 5:58 pm #98595Sorry guys but two wrongs don’t make a right. Fergie did not try to defend Cantona after his kung foo kick on that fan, so why make the comparison?
The scholes / rooney incidents were nothing more than hand bags at five paces rather than life threatening challenges. OK they should have been punished with red cards but that’s all.
I can’t believe you are trying to make this incident seem like run of the mill stuff just because you don’t like united or Fergie.
Williams is a fantastic player, wish we had him, but doing that to your fellow professional is in-excusable, get the fekker banned for the rest of the season. :angry:From Matlock to ManU

24 December 2012 at 6:33 pm #98598The scholes / rooney incidents were nothing more than hand bags at five paces rather than life threatening challenges. :The Rooney one was diabolical, premeditated assault, nothing less.
A red card and a lengthy ban should have followed.Keane on hangelaand was also a career threatening challenge (did he ever recover from that?)
And scholes has made a career out of silly reckless challenges
It’s all in the game and what goes around comes around, what i take issue with is fergie calling for a lengthy ban, which is no better than holding up an imaginary card, something he has rightly condemned in the past, people in glass houses and all that.
And to over exaggerate by saying van persie could have been killed, well that’s just laughable, he’d be the first I’ve heard of to be killed by a football, and again, what goes round comes round, he’s hardly been a saint has he, I think Williams should have gone for the face off the rebound, give him something to really moan about!
