If we’re already going to start suggesting new managers then I’ll throw mine in: Pearce.
20 June 2010 at 1:35 pm #38032You would seriously have SWP in your starting XI? He has been one of the worst performers of all!James;
Johnson, Terry, Dawson, A. Cole;
Milner, Gerrard, Barry, J. Cole;
Heskey, Defoe.
I’d have that team and I agree SWP has been very bad for England.

Regardless of how sh1te he’s been, we can’t drop Rooney. If he plays well on Wednesday or even half decent we’ll win. As much as I love Heskey, the last two games he’s been clueless (along with the rest of the team admittedly).
SWP shouldn’t be in the team when Cole is on the bench. Shove Gerrard in the hole behind Rooney and lets see if he can dig us out of the one we find ourselves. * :D
I apoligise for the terrible, terrible pun
20 June 2010 at 6:46 pm #38056Wright Phillips and Lennon in the same team? I can count on one hand the number of wingers who have made an effect during this world cup.

James
Johnson, Terry, Upson, A Cole
Barry, Lampard
Milner, Gerrard, J Cole
RooneyI don’t think we can drop Rooney, just play him in the role he’s been playing all season. For that reason also play Gerrard behind him. Need some intelligence on the field as well so drop the headless chicken approach and play Milner and J.Cole.

Upson, .:lol:
20 June 2010 at 7:50 pm #38065With our so called world class superstar having scored 0 goals and has 0 assists in six appearances (433 mins) at the world cup and having now gone more than 10 hours without a goal for England…. and the Premiership’s best goalscoring midfielder having had the 2nd most amount of shots without scoring in the World Cup ever, i don’t think anyone knows what to do with that team.

RooneyBang on for me that Mr Gray . Think Lennon would do a great job coming on after an hour or so, if not all going to plan.

It really depends on how the fans react to Rooney or more likely how Rooney does to the fans.We should be able to rest players that are clearly injured & still win 4-0
The pun is fine !

I don’t know how Upson got into the squad, even over Dawson initially. Dawson is by far the better CB.
21 June 2010 at 3:38 pm #38133James
Johnson
Warnock
Dawson
Upson
Barry
Carrick
Milner (if fit)
Heskey
Defoe
J.ColeI posted the above in jest, and don’t for one miute think that Capello will drop Rooney, Lampard, Terry and Gerrard.
One thing is for sure though, this tournament has certainley highlighted the problem the FA and its creation of the Premier LeagueL has created for the National game.
We have no strength in depth, and the so called star players are not as good as they are hyped up to be.
A foreign quota or limit on wages to put off the foreign stars has to implemented, with the savings put into grass roots and future development of home grown players. -
