      …absolutely shocking.

Shit manager, shit players, couldn’t tell what our tactics or gameplay was, it was an absolute shitshow.

Danson, either you change things and show some actual ambition, or be prepared for 5000 crowds next season. No chance was there 13k on today, stop trying to con people.

Possibly the worst game I’ve ever seen as a Latica supporter in the 38 years I’ve been going.
For me, Maloney needs canning off and I’m not even bothered about us keeping any of the players. Sam Tickle is better than this, he will definitely move. The rest are a shambles and need a kick up their arses. Thelo Asgaard…needs his stupid hairstyle chopping off. He’s a fancy Dan who isn’t backing up his place in the team.
I would’nt give McManaman a new deal either. He’s past it. The only player I dont mind at the moment is Scott Smith. Gets stuck in.
Matt Smith… why is he playing so deep when we need him further forward?

So glad there’s only one home game left…thank god.

Disgusting that today. Let’s see what Baloney makes of it….

Totally agree about Asgaard and Matt Smith. Struggling all season to figure out exactly what position Asgaard plays and what he adds…F### All Imo……Mat Smith is virtually playing in the back 7….what a waste of ability. F####### no striker experiment bombed without trace.Slow, boring,no fight absolutely no goal threat……..becoming a drag going…..DW the entertainment vacuum!!!!!…..SM takes the responsibility but some of the players stealing a living!!!

Outside the ground today and Sean Clare walked past, all grinning and laughing. I said to my lad “see him then, that’s what’s wrong, they’re just picking a wage up. If that was me at 2.40, I’d be somewhere in the club with a solemn expression, pissed off that I wasn’t playing.” They aren’t arsed this lot.

My youngest lad has lost interest in playing football and has switched to Rugby League. I said to him “if Wigan ever want you, would you want to play for them?” Being loyal to Latics, he said “no”. I told him off and said “no, I’d want you to play for them, you’d be stupid not to.” But this is part of the knock on effect from this absolute turdfest what Maloney is churning out.

I’ve had enough of him, and his aftermatch comments. It’s absolute crap, that’s what it is. 9 years to the day that Malky Mackay was sacked…the fans turned on him. Why is Maloney not being turned on? Because he has history with us?

Hes never a manager in the memory of man. I honestly believe I could do a better job with these players. His tactics and set up is shite. They don’t even look fit enough.

Coyle, Mackay, Joyce, Kolo The Klown…they were no worse than Maloney. He needs getting shut of as soon as possible, or the crowds are going to drop drastically next season.

Club goes on about being self sufficient and managed carefully. We’ll if they want bums on seats they’ll have to change things and improve what’s on offer.

How the f*** some folk stood clapping that at the end today, I’ll never know.

And how the club can have the absolute cheek to be putting things out about this ‘Future Fund’ thing, I’ll never know. Anybody signing upto such a thing has to have a screw loose.

Whole club is a proper mess.

Difficult that today, very difficult against another struggling side. For me a good few players out there looked like their all counting down their holidays in the sun. Even though Shaw only did 12 minutes he proceeded to give away foul after foul and a yellow.

It must be hard to motivate yourself when you’ve nothing to play for and you probably already know your fates sealed and your not going to be here next season.

            So firstly:-

            Aasgaard

There’s no way we should ever play without a forward when there’s at least one forward available, Kelmans there use him. If not try Cze there but for me definitely not Aasgaard.
I bet he was as shocked as us to find himself in what I’d class as a forward role’ish but tbh I’ve still not a clue were he was actually told to play.

            S.Smith?
Was he a rightback in a 5 or was he playing as a wingback ? I’m still baffled as he did more defending than pushing up.

If he was actually a wingback Smith confirmed to us today he isn’t one. Defend? yes, midfielder ? Yes but up and and down the wing overlapping whip the odd ball in? Oh my God no ! what the hell was Maloney thinking ?.

            Adeeko?

For me he’s simply not good enough but for some unknown reason he’s first on the team sheet week in week out. It’s a whole lot of nothing for 90 minutes, he’s gets about but offers very little on the attacking or defending front. You never hear anyone mention him after a game whether it’s good or bad and why? because he does nothing to praise or either criticise.

But the one huge thing I don’t understand is the insessive passing back whenever an opposition player gets within 3 yards of one of our players. They look scared to death of making a mistake if they take a player on or a simple pass forward it’s at times mind boggling.

Our players are either told to pass pass pass back and sidewards or they simply don’t have the ability to either run with the ball or move find space then pass to to up field I truly don’t know why the hell we insist on 20 passes to get to the halfway line.

            McManaman?

I’ll have to disagree with some people on this one. I still think he has a part to play but one of them is not starting a game, he’s an impact player.
He’s at his best coming on late in a game going through tired players something he’s done a few times and totally changed games plus chipping in with the odd goal to. For me that’s the managers fault for starting him not McManaman’s.

There’s no harm in him losing a yard of pace as he’s got older that’s understandable but if he can still contribute when coming on late especially at this level for me he still has a big part to play at Wigan even if its for only for one more season then I’m all for him stopping for another season.

But from what I can see I can only describe it by saying Maloneys trying to make 5 star Michelin food from 2 tins a beans and a tin of rice pudding.
The players look like they cannot or don’t want to play in his system and don’t understand what their jobs are. Then every game Maloney rips the book up changing 5-6 players a sign he’s in the dark clutching for some straws.

We are not Man City or Arsenal, we don’t have the quality of player to make even a futile effort to be anything that resembles City with no forward but SM insists on trying today and his plans failed miserably once again.

            And that sums us up.

Were a side been led by the captain of the ship with no rudder, no map and no compass and with absolutely no idea were were going .

Looking at the players body language today there doesn’t seem to be an ounce of team spirit left especially with only a handful of players been guaranteed to be here next season.

Danson needs to sit down and seriously look at how we go forward. Is he prepared to hand over money to a blind manager who cannot see wrong that’s up to him but if it were me? I’m sorry he’d have to go.

            Danson needs to decide
            Is it the players?
            Is it the manager ?

Shame really but Maloney would have to go simply because that’s the nature of the beast the buck stops at his door and it’s what’s best for the club

Starts to blame the pitch at the end of his post match interview today. Apparently it interferes with our passing and slows us down

Most of us wanted a mid table not a lot to play for season and that is what we have had. The football is low risk possession based that is boring the pants off everyone ,let’s just get to the end of the season. For me , there is a hell of a lot going on behind the scenes that we are not privy to , we can only hope, as fans , that whatever is going on is going to benefit the team and will make us promotion contenders next season. None of us have got a Scooby Doo at this stage what Dansons intentions are other than to make us sustainable but surely he has to be ambitious and at least try to get to the next level , we live in hope ! Roll on next season !
Incidentally , an interested spectator at today’s game a certain Mr Steve Bruce , he clearly still has a lot of friends at the club.

And one of our favourite centre forwards was in the crowd; Johnny Rogers, the first Latics player ever to score at Wembley !
We shook his hand :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

We need a CEO and we need one yesterday,
Ben Goodburn jobsharing is no good to anyone. We need a plan of attack manager CEO and owner. Without a CEO devoted to the football we will struggle with the lack of comms

We then need to sign players so we can build a team to challenge over the next two year period. Loanees and short 6-12 month deals are fine but it does more harm than good because by the time they’ve settled in their gone and all the good works undone again.

As fans we also need to be entertained. What we are currently been served up a style of football that will doing nothing more than push fans away.

Fingers crossed there is a plan in the making for next season, hopefully we’ll have our own CEO and we sign a few decent players and we end up building an exciting team and a style that puts more bums on seats.

But I know one thing, it cannot carry on the way it’s currently going on and off the field, meandering aimlessly not knowing who we are or were were going while fans are served up Tramadol football.

Things have to change, let’s get this season out the way, clear the decks and get the big earners out and hopefully things will start to improve.

I just hope Maloney can get it right next season because once he builds “his” own team he’ll have no excuses. I think we just have to write the next few games off no matter how much it hurts and lets start the new season with a clean slate so come June things will look alot brighter for us.

Thank God we are playing for nothing in our next few games because if we were we’d be fooked good style

I would just like to point out something small I spotted yesterday but to me it was significant as to why things are so wrong at the moment,

There’s 93.20minutes on the clock it’s 0-0 and Goode receives the ball from Tickle, firstly why?,

And again their lies the problem with us,

Tickle should be waving his arms for everyone to get up top then hoof a Hail Mary with 30seconds to go you just never know.

But no, he gives the ball to Goode,

Goode then looks left looks right rolls the ball with his studs then another quick look then suddenly he then sees a Port Vale player 5 yards away offering no threat, he inturn sh!ts himself so he decides to slowly passes the ball sideways,

                    Ref blows for fulltime

Would we have scored wacking it upfield with 40seconds to go ? probably not but I know one thing you won’t know unless you try.

So if Tickle doesn’t hoof it Goode a so called experienced centre half should be barking at everyone to get up top then wack it you just never know.

That for me sums up Latics at the moment playing a certain way to the letter of the law and players not thinking off the cuff. We were happy to take a point rather than give it one last punt.
                    Again I’m confused
Is that the fault of the manager or the fault of both Tickle and Goode ?

There was at least 20 people sat near me screaming for Goode to launch it,

If we can see it why can’t Goode and the manager not ?

                    #202933

I think SM must have ear plugs fitted !
He needs to throw them away and come and sit amongst the crowd; maybe near CW if there is a spare seat.
Otherwise there will be plenty spare seats next season.

Just read the ’12th Man’ collumn that Kendrick churns out with comments from the same old folk who love to blow smoke up the clubs arse on a regular basis.

I keep seeing comments of people saying ‘we are safe’, er not quite. We have 4 games left and 3 are away games that I haven’t got any hope for. One is against a club being revived by a new manager, Charlton, then there is Lincoln who are battling to go up, and then Portsmouth who are going for the title. If we lose these 3 and Cheltenham are picking up points, it could be squeaky bum time. They we’ve got Bristol Rovers at the DW last game. With how we’ve been, I can’t say I’d be confident of beating them.

Nobody can defend Maloney and how bad we are, surely?

Anybody who doesn’t think it’s all too bad, I hope you enjoy the 5000 crowds next season unless things change.

Others complain about fans staying at the end and applauding.

Most fans aren’t permanently negative about everything. I know it hasn’t been great of late but this is what happens to teams when they have nothing to play for at the end of a season. We are just not used to it as we are always fighting promotion or relegation.

And yes we are safe, there’s no squeaky bum time.

I know it’s end of season syndrome and none of our players give a fook cause we’re safe but this style and brand of football has been going on for most of the season when we weren’t safe.

Against the better sides in the League it works but against the lesser sides who tend to play 10 men behind the ball and counter it’s about as useless as rice paper toilet roll.

Maloney needs to adapt when teams do this and if he sticks with midfield joining defense and 20 passes to get to the half way line then I’m afraid history will repeat itself next season regardless of any new players.

Me?, I keep saying it, I want him to do well prove us all wrong that he’s the right man for us but he will have to do better next season to convince the growing army of doubters.
