Cant blame hodgson IMO for us having a mediocre defence. Though i cant stand these 2 we needed a cole & terry in there, ie leaders. Attack & midfield wise i think were ok & will be better once the most over-rated player in english football retires ie, mr liverpool himself.

Mr Burns should never have got the job in the first place. He has the charisma and character of a water hog’s testicle.

Yes he did take a load of kids along to Brazil and yes he didn’t play them, apart from the love of his life Liverpool players.

The players and FA are coming out in support of Hodgeson, but what else are they supposed to do?.

After the Italy game Barkley, Lalana, Wiltshire, Shaw should have started and Oxlade-Chamberlain even if he was only half fit.

I’m sick of hearing Gerrard, Rooney and Hodgeson harp on about the future looking good with these lads having the experience of being at a world cup. Unless you play, you get no experience whatsoever. They must be absolutely gutted about not getting any serious game time, what a waste.

He played a bluff card by adding these novices to his squad, knowing full well taht the usual shyte would be playing.
Joe hart is total pants, out of the back four I quite like Cahill, Baines when going forward is Ok, but Jagielka, Johnson are all over the place when needed defensively, Baines as well at times.

Gerrad is a top class player for Liverpool, but a mediocre player for England, Jordan Henderson’s the same.

Rooney gives 100% but only shows world class in patches. Sturridge and Welbeck did OK, but is OK good enough?

In my opinion we had the squad out there to easily make the knock out stages from that group. Who’s fault is it that we didn’t?

I disagree Jr, we haven’t got enough quality players, and we will struggle to improve until the FA and Premier League change.

Greg Dyke has already admitted there are not enough young players coming through, but his plan of a PL ‘B’ league will only improve the opposition countries even more as the teams will be full of 18-20 year old foreign players.

Not until the Premier League and other English Leagues for that matter restrict the amount of foreign nationals allowed on the field of play at one time will we see much improvement.

The pool of players to pick from is shrinking all the time as more and more money is thrown at foreign players.

How many First team Premier League players are actually English?

Hodgson is to blame. Your spot on with Cole and Terry but it was Woy who decided not to try to get Terry to return and it was Woy who took Shaw instead of Cole. I really like Bainsey and he is a really decent wing back but he cannot defend anywhere near as good as Cole yet Woy thought it a good idea to make Baines his first choice left back. He then left him hopelessly exposed by arsing about with who played in front of him playing people out of position. As much as we may dislike Cole and Terry I truly believe that had they both played we would not be out of the tournament before many other countries had even played their second game. Hodgson will not lose his job and England will not move forward until the flaming FA start having the balls and employ people who know exactly what is needed instead of giving the top jobs to FA people. It is dead easy to slag the likes of Gerard but if Woy had got a few decisions right we would still be in it. I’m not usually on the “blame the manager” bandwagon but to me it was blatantly obvious that especially against Italy he picked players coz of who they were rather than where their best position was.
