Latics should have won me thinks. City had 10 men for 20 minutes. and yet we still only have 1 up front, at home too. And that 1 was Jason Scotland, who never looked like scoring and imo will never score in the premier league. He tries to play like Heskey as he’ll never score. But if we want the master at that role then we should have kept Heskey. Although a point is a decent result, I’m slightly disappointed we didn’t do more to try and get all 3. Credit to City though, last 20 mins they battled hard to get a point.
Sinclair should have came on at least for the last 20 or so. If not from the start. He is the most direct winger we have, and the one opposition sides will least like to face. Rodallega is a striker, not a winger. If he wants to play him and Scotland, then they both have to be up front. At home, no matter who the opposition we should be going for the win and getting 2 up front. Late on, Scotland headed a great ball across the box. If he had a partner up there with him. Then we would probably have scored and won. Although a point is a cracking result against City, I do have a few issues with our tactics. And to bring Gomez on for Scharner for me was the wrong decision. If he was to take Scharns off then bring on Sinclair. Not Gomez as he looked lost and hardly touched the ball.
This may sound like a moan, but I don’t intend it to be that way. I was impressed at times, and happy with a point. But given the circumstances. We were just a few wrong decisions away from a win.
agree we were worth 3 points but i have to say scotland is never a premiership striker as long has i has a hole in my ass
dont know, who you men were watching up front but it wasnt scotland, this mon frightend the life out of elephant head and the other mon your comparing him with heskey———-how many goals did heskey score for us again, work rates both same and another thing scotland stays on his feet. And the goals will come from this mon and you two will end up with egg on your faces
Scotland was fantastic up front, got a good touch and his hold up play was first class and like someone else said, he stays on his feet better than Heskey, he is never going to score 15 goals a season in this league admittedly but he does a job, like good old JR.
The rest of the team were great and you can see we are getting better and more confident with every game, you have not got to forget it is still very early on yet and we are only going to get beter when players fully settle and gel and we have got City, Utd, Chelsea and Arenal out of the way already. I am excited about the rest of the season and am absoloutly loveing the style and tactics of our play.
I think Scotland is excellent and is work rate is second to none, I am not sure about MOM yesterday because I thought there were a couple of better players but he was really good. He as only played a couple of Prem matches from the start and people already on his back, give the bloke a chance and he will score, plus the games he as played are against Chelsea & Man City who anyone would struggle to score. We have a new team, new management so give us time to gel and settle in, you can see we are improving all the time..
Now I believe on our day we can beat any team in the Prem, were I used to think we’d never beat a top team..
Spot on Amigo, good post, Like you say playing against Chelsea and city for his only two starts is hard and he did well without scoring and against so called lesser opposition like the dingles next week he will have more of chance as jayt said in an earlier post.
Despite all the doom and gloom pre season, things are looking very good indeed, our midfield is particularly good and I think Charlie had his best game yet for us, the only slight dissapointment was when citeh went a man down we didn’t go all out to punish them but i am more than happy with the point and the way we got it.
Ole ole ole ole Bobby Bobby
I don’t rate Scotland as a goalscorer personally, and if we are going to play him, then you have to agree he needs Rodallega up front with him to feed off him, as Scotland won’t score alone up front. and Sinclair must start as he has been quality every time he’s played this season. and why’s Koumas on the bench now? If Bobby continues playing 4-2-3-1,I’d prefer him in Gomez’s position any day of the week.
Personally against Burnley I think we should go…
—————Kirkland if fit—————
Mario——Bramble—-Boyce—-Figueroa
Sinclair—-Thomas—-Diame—-N’Zogbia
————Scotland—-Rodallega———-
Let’s go for the win against a side that looks shakey at the back, and keep N’zogbia on the left. He can run at people alot more there and becomes more of a threat I think. And with 2 defensive centre midfielders, we have an insurance for the 4 ahead of them that can attack more and get us the goals to beat the Burnley scum!!!!
