12 February 2020 at 3:08 am #184969Not to back stu up or anything but why are we allowed to pick on the ref today?
As for the game….I suggested Jacobs start tonight but will be the last time I do that. Dreadful. Offered absolutely nothing.
Question regards Moore….who actually thinks he’s a goalscorer? Naismith smashes a superb ball across the box 2nd half and the guy doesn’t move. Garner (and Grigg) would have buried it. They had 1 chance and scored 2 goals.
Quickest jacobs moved was when he was going off.
Windass would have scored too. Should have never let him go.
12 February 2020 at 3:10 am #184970The ref knows the rules a clear one on one opportunity is a red card.
That decision changed the game and I’m confident we would of gone on to win.
Gosh he got so much wrong tonight he embarrassed himself yes the referee has a lot to take blame for on this instance.12 February 2020 at 3:15 am #184971Plenty defenders tracking back, plenty res give a yellow there.
12 February 2020 at 3:30 am #184972Plenty defenders tracking back, plenty res give a yellow there. They may have been tracking back, but not one would have got back had Moore not been fouled.
He was the last man and Moore would have been clean through. It was a clear red card.12 February 2020 at 5:04 am #184973I’m on hols so watched the whole game on tv so may have had a better view and to be honest I didn’t think the challenge on Moore was a red he still had a lot of work to do had he not been brought down. I don’t think the lads could have done more tonight under the circumstances yet again we turn victory into non victory better than any other club. Boro,s second goal was definitely avoidable but was probably down to the wind. Proud the way the boys kept going after going behind and to be honest after we equalised looked the more likely side to win it.
12 February 2020 at 5:06 am #184974Shocker of a decision…..game changing. We didn’t pull up any trees up but 10 men should have given us a chance to close game out……
12 February 2020 at 5:12 am #184975One positive is Boro are like us shite so if we could go on a decent run they are catchable
12 February 2020 at 11:20 am #184978Problem is going on a decent run and carrying players like Jacobs, Massey. Lowe, Evans and others will not see us go on a decent run. Harsh reality.

12 February 2020 at 12:42 pm #184981The refs in this league are the worst I’ve ever seen and they are all trying to become premiership officials (joke)every teams forums are all saying the same thing, but we are in this shit not because of the refs but because of Paul Cook hes got us in this shit and he can get us out of it.

12 February 2020 at 1:48 pm #184987Not every fouls a yellow he only showed 1 yellow in the first half. He must have then had a couple of pints of Red Bull at half time showing 10 more yellows.
He’s not partical to getting the hand in the pocket handing out 17 cards in his last 2 games (31 cards in his last 6).
He’s down to ref the QPR V Stoke game this Saturday.
Let’s hope he’s as card happy towards Stoke. No wonder VARs tits up, he’s listed as a VAR official.12 February 2020 at 1:51 pm #184988Be clear on what I am saying – the referee was awful last night.
But we are very ill-disciplined. Whether Chey should have been a bit more cautious when on a yellow, the fact remains that when he was sent off we lost our heads. And none more-so than the manager.
At a time when we need cool heads we lose our rag, dive in recklessly, argue, all of which sets a referee against us, even subconsciously. And the thing becomes self-perpetuating.
Cook needs to take a long hard look at his own behaviours, and he needs to instil in the players a steely calm, even Germanic, ruthlessness of being able (a) to turn things around when they are going badly, and (b) to stay focussed when we are ahead.

I commented last night that when you know a referee is booking players for dissent then simply don’t argue with him, but it’s easy to say and very hard to do especially when you’re in an almost must win game.
12 February 2020 at 2:17 pm #184990As I pointed out, not every tackles a card and if we to book every player for gobbin off we’d be able to finish games off in the soccerdome.
Good ref’s can control a game without the over use of cards. We’ve all seen it from grass root level up to Premiership level, it’s all about man management skills especially when a games not a dirty game.If it was a dirty game and violent and cards been shown then so be it but how many times could a yellow card been actually avoided ?.
From the time he sent Dunkley off he showed 8 more in 30 minutes. Over use ? just a little. -
