Coldest wettest trip ever; to Stoke in Horc’s red escort with no heater working.
      Lost to a dodgy penalty.
      A day to forget.

Was that the same match were I checked out the plumbing in the womans bogs?
I thought it was strange there were no urinals, but put it down to being a new ground with perhaps different ideas, never once thought it was the womens.
I certainley knew it was the womens when I came out though and you lot were pissing yourselves.[/quote]
Had a senior moment yesterday and walked in the womens bogs.

Wembley 1973. Challenge Trophy Final against Scarborough. 20,000 Latics fans and 4,000 Scarborough.
I remember the Scarborough players parading the pitch prior to kick off and throwing Scarborough rock to the Latics fans only to have it broken up and thrown back at them as they retreated back towards the pitch.

Big wooden football rattles normally painted in club colours, banned in the 70’s as they started to be used for other things than their original purpose.

I think the goalie was called Bert Garrow, he was massive.
The referee was a cheat that day, he turned down a blatant penalty for us.
What a feelling when John Rogers equalised in the 90th minute.

We’ve had a few like that over the years Nuneaton, but it was a great day out for a 10 year old to watch our fantastic club at Wembley.
Who’d have thought Wembley would feel like a home fixture all those years later.

On the pitch that night we won The Premier League and players throwing their shirts to the crowd. John King went one further and his shorts came flying out of The Phoenix Stand.

Simon Haworths goal that day was a bit special.

Any Latics goal (especially at the moment) is a bit special. Didn’t Haworth’s goal take a deflection?
