Is it really worth carrying on now? Should it not just be nullified and start again in September?
It would be a pain for Barrow and Wanky would have a new start on minus 12 but even to go ahead now there would be all sorts of problems.
Then there’s the bonus of us not having to endure anymore of Cooks shite football and the club could start selling and marketing for the new season.11 April 2020 at 7:56 am #185995I agree. Null and void. Circumstances have taken over. For me, right now with so many people involved in this pandemic, adn we all probably know someone affected …………
………. football pales into insignificance and feels a tad irrelevant.
11 April 2020 at 12:49 pm #185997I’m no scientist or health expert but based on Wuhans lockdown which lasted 111 days that would take us to the end of June. Just can’t see how they can restart then. Once a few countries start to void the rest will follow so we can all start again in August. Donny even if we do there’s little chance of you having to endure Cooks shite footy as it will almost certainly be behind closed doors. That shit footy by the way was going pretty well when it got stopped.
11 April 2020 at 2:08 pm #185999It wasn’t the same as Paul Jewell’s football though (a lot of which was going 1 up and sitting back) so it was rubbish.
The season should have been scrapped when all this started. Follow the Jock idea and go off points per game.
11 April 2020 at 2:12 pm #186000I’m missing all Cooks shite football and the moaning on this forum, will we get season ticket deduction for next season if the final games are played behind closed doors ?
11 April 2020 at 2:22 pm #186001Points per game ratio is irrelevant in the championship as we’ve all played the same so it’s as we are which of course we’d vote for. A few games earlier and it would have been a terrible idea.
As for season ticket refunds I’d be happy to forfeit that to be honest to do my bit for the club.
11 April 2020 at 5:21 pm #186002You simply cannot void this season. Clubs are in dire straits as it is and could not afford to pay back the tv revenue which they will want. On top of this hundreds of law suits will follow undoubtably. Villa sit in a relegation spot but have a game in hand so what happens there. The premier league will dictate what occurs and will probably go with finishing in some format albeit behind closed doors. Bury would have to be reinstated as well which would not look good on the EFL. No the pyramid will finish the season come what may but next season will be chaos.
11 April 2020 at 8:02 pm #186003Why would Bury have to be reinstated?
11 April 2020 at 10:30 pm #186004Because if you void the season it never happened and at the start of last season Bury were a league club. Like I said many lawsuits will follow this being one of them
11 April 2020 at 11:10 pm #186005Well I doubt they can afford to pay anybody next season either so they’ll be gone.
The clubs will vote on it and it will pass. Relegated sides can complain all they want but they will be out voted I think
12 April 2020 at 7:22 am #186006My solution would be: suspend ‘as normal’ during summer break. Continue the current season when the new season would normally start – and finish the 19-20 season in the fall. This season just essentially has an extra transfer window. For what would have been the 20-21 season, cut the season in half (play everyone 1 time instead of home and away).
12 April 2020 at 1:59 pm #186007Bit hard average points so far if you have bottom sides left whilst others have likes of Leeds, West Brom etc.
12 April 2020 at 2:58 pm #186008I posted something similar a while back lord brewtown, so obviously I agree. In life in gerneral at the mo we all need to press the pause button for a while.
12 April 2020 at 4:08 pm #186009Football is just not important in comparison to what is going on at the moment.
The season should be ended now as if everyone had played all their matches.
Liverpool would be Champions, Villa would go down, we would stay up, Bolton and Chorley would go down and Barrow would regain their league status after 50 odd years.
It won’t suit everyone and there will be a few unhappy clubs, but at the end of the day what is more important, the lives of many, many people or a few quid in compensation for having to play at a level next season that in reality you probably deserve anyway.
Come on FA, PL and EFL come to your senses and just make the decision now so we can all plan for next season, unless of course we are still in lockdown come August then fuck knows what we’ll do.

You cannot relegate Villa when they have a game in hand.
How about we end it now with no relegation Top two from every division come up and next season 5 go down instead of 3 to rebalance numbers. Scrap league cup to allow for extra games. Whatever happens next season is going to badly affected in some form.
