I can confirm that we’ve gone past the originally allocated tickets (assuming the coloured seating plan on the official site is accurate) It’s coloured up to block 515 or maybe 516, but the seat that I got this morning is in block 518.
Yes i noticed that but didn’t ask as i assumed the must have given us more. Whether they released for just to top row i’m not sure
Why on earth would they give us more?! We will struggle to sell what we have already!![/quote]
As it’s the final i think we will sell the 21k no problem. The top tier is for the cheaper seats (if you can call them cheap) so as we have sold our initial allocation up to block 515 they released more blocks up top to accommodate the demand for cheaper seats.

Girl on the counter this morning said they sold out upto initial allocation (block 515) on top tier yesterday, and this morning they had sold up to block 519 already.
I don’t know if the mix between Categories is the same for the Cup Final.
With City’s sales in the semi-final it was the cheapest seats up in Level 5 behind the goal which sold out last, but that might change with the price hike. Our tickets don’t go on sale until Wednesday and my brother and I wont be eligible to buy until Saturday.
Keeping an eye on your ticket sales in the hope that we might get those extra 4,000 tickets that have been held back.
Bit of controversy over City’s sales process. They’re being sold to season ticket holders on the Cup Scheme ie seasoncard holders who have agreed to automatically pay by Direct Debit for all FA Cup games, and some very long standing season ticket holders aren’t in that Cup scheme and they are worried they will miss out. There isn’t really a way to please everyone.
The FA should split the tickets between the competing teams and unsold tickets should go to neutrals and the so called footballing family.

I’m not getting into City’s problems, God knows we have our own, but surely the clue is in the wording “who have agreed to automatically pay by Direct Debit for all FA Cup games”. All FA Cup games surely includes the Final? Why on Earth would they then not have priority.
Just to give an update, bought my ticket 5pm Tuesday. Only £65 tickets left are in block 519, People at the side of me were buying £85 in secton 109 behing the goals.

I don’t have a problem with City’s sale process. There are some City season ticket holder though who have been going for ages, and they weren’t in the Cup Scheme, and therefore are worried they wont get a ticket because it’s Cup Scheme members first.
I know it’s not a Wigan issue but it’s annoying that with a 90k capacity, that your regular long standing supporters aren’t guaranteed a seat, in fact with a 26k allocation, and 36,500 season ticket holders, thousands of regular fans are guaranteed not to get a seat, yet the footballing family and sponsors get priority. All that will happen is that the neutral ticket holders will sell their tickets on and make a profit out of the fans. The FA know that’s what happens
I joined queue at 5:30am and was surprised it was already down length of the away end.
I finally got my tickets at 11am, 5 and half hours later. But you know what? It was worth it to get the tickets in my hands.
I think the people who queued from Saturday evening though need to get a life.
Any ST holder, realistically, could roll up on deadline day of Saturday and they should still get a ticket. I suppose it depends if you mind where you sit.
Sunday will be interesting, to see the demand on general sale.
Fair play to those that queued up Saturday night. From what I can gather a great craic was had by all. There’s more to life than convenience and comfort. My dad was there from midnight. He’s well into his 70’s but he loved it. Chatting to people he’d never met before, everybody sharing food and drink with complete strangers. He said it just made it part of the cup final experience. I realise it could all be done with the click of a button from the comfort of your own home, but it’s just a click of a button. Like buying any other commodity. My old man went home with stories to tell and new friends made. You can be as smug as you like about buying them on line, but don’t knock those that see and do things differently. Sad is the last word I would use to decribe him when I saw him on Sunday afternoon.
