That would be the problem but im sure if marketed right and with the ticket office/shop in the centre now im sure we could get a few floating fans!
Its colder in the east than the west!
1 December 2009 at 1:36 am #14300Did we not play Hull a few seasons ago in cup at home ? Fcuk all attendance wise then and despite Hulls loftier position now I cant see this being any different. I will predict no more than 6000 ! Will probably be a lot less than that !!
1 December 2009 at 2:15 am #14306We did play them Filmoss…I think it was a night match in the Carling cup and they beat us 0-1 if memory serves me right….
The attendance as it stands at the moment is likely to be fooking awful and that is why folk are trying to plant seeds in the clubs minds as to the sorts of things that could be tried to get some folk in.
To be honest from past cup games at the DW we could pretty much open the gates and have it free for anyone and we wouldn’t get more than 10,000 on…
1 December 2009 at 2:21 am #14308this is true Yic and only when the team gets through to the latter stages of a cup ie quarters will the fans come on. A good cup run would be nice but such are the survival benefits in the Prem that survival is paramount to a club of our stature so fringe players will be relied upon to get us thus far !!
1 December 2009 at 2:41 am #14312Aye Filmoss I think there was summert like 4,000 max on at the JJB for our Carling cup semi first leg against Arsenal in our first year in the prem….and Arsenal brought a decent following aswell!
Next thing you know we take 25,000 to Cardiff for the final!
1 December 2009 at 2:44 am #14313Cant remember the crowd but I remember the power cut and Bullard setting off on a run with the ball towards their net in complete darkness ! Needless to say he missed !!
1 December 2009 at 3:20 am #14314LOL! I think that was when he whipped one of the Arsenal players shorts down an’all !
Fooking nutter that mon!

Rule 20 means states that the minimum price for 3rd to 6th round adult tickets must be £15.
It is a massive own goal by the FA. The 3rd & 4th round are played the month after the most expensive time of year, particularly for those with kids, and yet they set in stone a minimum admission price which is the same as the quarter final!. Sunderland have drawn a non-league side at home and who in their right mind will want to shell out even £10 to watch our reserves go through the motions and get a scruffy 1-0 or 2-0 win? We will be looking at a crowd of about 25,000, which will include a sizeable away following.
Whilst the adult price will be at least £15, hopefully, both Wigan & Hull can agree to either not charge, or charge no more than £1 for OAPs & Kids so at least the day out for parents who bother remains reasonably cheap.

Rememeber to hold the shift key whilst clicking the links to open them in a new window…
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

who in their right mind would shell out £10 to watch your FIRST team?
1 December 2009 at 2:29 pm #14331Im pretty sure we could get dispensation if both clubs agreed to it!

It looks like he was right for once.
No South stand for this one1 December 2009 at 4:42 pm #14338said point:
Except where mutually agreed otherwise the minimum admission (except to children
and senior citizens) to matches shall be:
In the Extra-Preliminary, Preliminary and First Round Qualifying: £3.00
In the Second and Third Rounds Qualifying: £5.00
In the Fourth Round Qualifying: £6.00
In the First and Second Round Proper: £10.00
In the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Round Proper: £15.00I think the ‘Except where mutually agreed otherwise’, speaks for itself really doesn’t it.
1 December 2009 at 4:52 pm #14340Yep i think youve nailed it there! That pricing is disgusting to me! Its not about the money its the chance that we are missing of attracting some floating fans and new fans!
£15 a ticket will honestly in my eyes see a crowd of 4-6 thousand!
So who was being greedy us or Hull or both of us?
