Certainly makes you feel that way.
If we really believed what we were saying when calling him “The New Carlos Tevez” is it not a shambolic miss of a future world class superstar?
The carping on here gets me down.We have a team that beat Villa and Chelsea and unlike Kathy Beale is miles too good to go down and could still have an unlikely trip to Wembley in the FA Cup.
Be happy.
He’s been on SSN saying he didnt want to put the club into debt that could get out of control for Ruben, sounds like maybe they moved the goalposts at the last minute.
Oh and all those who think he’s a tightwad, just have a look at Pompey/Leeds for what happens when you spend unrealistic sums on players.

But £2.5m for Jason Scotland is ok? You end up spending more when you have to keep replacing rubbish.
Tha forgot add Jordi Gomez to your post Ticslad
once again people on here chose to here and believe what they want to hear,
there has been a distinct silence,on the whelan comment “but i was also not very happy about signing a player not in their fist team even though roberto said he will be a good signing”
after what he said about bruce and his dodgy signings and looking at amaya, scotland, gomez, sinclair, diame dont you think david whelan has a right to be cautious.

He has every right to be cautious.
Yes he may be the new Tevez, but then again he could turn out to be the new Agahowa.
Would you risk £8M on an unproved reserve player.
He has backed his manager in the past but look what happened with King etc.
I still think the goalposts were moved by Villareal regarding the structure of the deal so he is every bit within his rights to tell them to do one.

yes i agree he should be cautious and the goalposts were moved but villa real have been stung by us before havent they – vallencia buy for 4 mill sell for 16 mill,no wonder they want a 50% sell on clause!
but its the other comment whelan made about being unsure, now this to me shows that he put faith in bruce’s ability and was rewarded with spending loads on dodgy signings-and he doesn’t intend that happening with martinez and upto now whelan will be looking at martinez’s trading so far and i dont think he will be impressed.

If you think that is the case, and considering Whelan said Bruce was one of the country’s best managers, I’d suggest that he’d be mindful of the signings made by any manager who took the role – not just Martinez. Or, maybe the ‘Wigan One’ didn’t trust what the ‘Geordie One’ did, and is now watching the ‘Spanish One’, or alternatively, you once almost choked on Paella (from a tin by Heinz) and hate these greasy ‘ispanic types.
Loudmouth said…..there has been a distinct silence,on the whelan comment “but i was also not very happy about signing a player not in their fist team even though roberto said he will be a good signing”
A few of us were talking about this and wondered if Whelan is beginning to question Roberto’s judgement in the transfer market, or did Villareal move the goalposts at the last minute. Whatever, I would say is that if the deal was within the budget Whelan promised Martinez for this transfer window, then no matter what the chairman’s view, he must always back his manager.
