These 4-4-2 comments have to wind-ups, surely.
Please tell me they are, or are they the same people who think Gomez is useless because he doesn’t run around and kick people, and belting the ball forwards and hard is the only way to play?

We played a 3 – 5 – 2 last night Fortune and Powell being the spearhead ! I think Uwe prefers to play 3 across the back the majority of the time and if fully fit the 3 favs appear to be Boyce, Barnett and Perch !

I wouldn’t disagree with him on that.30 January 2014 at 12:18 am #126536Read an interview with a Brentford player a few weeks back who said that earlier this season when they’d lost. 4 games in a row Uwe had a clear the air / cards onth table session with his squad. One of the things they raised was his rotation policy and he immediately started playing a regular 11. As soon as he did that they went on a 7-8 game unbeaten run, only drawing once.
Doesn’t look like that learning has sunk in though and probably won’t while we continue to get results.
My guess is that he always had Boro down as a draw at best and was therefore willing to risk the changes – and will revert to his “A team” to go get the points vs lowly Charlton.30 January 2014 at 12:58 am #126538Rosler has had 8 league games won 4 drawn 3 lost 1 that’s 15pts, translated to a full season and rosler would accumulate about 80 to 85 pts by rotating the squad and NOT playing 442
Reckon that’s the play offs at worst, unfortunately the previous incumbent means we’re playing catchup
30 January 2014 at 1:47 am #126539I actually believe that promotion is no longer on our agenda this season – hence the tinkering and no permanent signings.
The remainder of this season is all about deciding who will still be here and who we need to bring in ready for the start of next season. The last thing we want to do is sneak into the Prem and then struggle like mad. Better to give Uwe another season building his squad and getting some momentum ,so that when we do go up we can compete.
And of course this means we can give our total commitment to defending our cup for as long as possible.

I for one would be quite happy to retain the FA Cup and stay in the Championship for this season.
30 January 2014 at 2:49 am #126544And I’d be happy if we played City in the Community Shield at Wembley and beat them again.
