Though Watson faded badly, started brightly but he slows play down too much when sometimes we need a quick counter attack. Never rated Di Santo, his scoring record doesn’t justify his want for an improved contract and having got Kone ( who was great again today ) for 4 mill, we should sell as he was dreadful again today. Stam was great when he came on, would like to see Miyachi given a run on the right though

Stam was great when he came on, would like to see Miyachi given a run on the right thoughI agree he should throw Miyachi in as we seemed to lack that bit of quality around the 12 yard box.They are in red hot form though and we ran a very very good side very close yesterday.Kone is a fantastic player and Martinez did really well bringing him in for that amount of money.

Watson didn’t just pass the ball yesterday, several occasions spring to mind, where he also took on and beat a couple of WBA players, took decent set-pieces (Watson ?, I hear myself say ?), had attempts on goal
Credit where due, yesterday he was good; particularly, when considered the fact that he hasn’t been a regular, he turned up /took his chance. If he did tail off, then that’s understandable (match fitness, he was knackered).
Hopefully, just a bad day at the office for Di Santo (thoughts on playing for country, Wednesday; or injury ?) Didn’t look at it, but as been very good of late (he, and Kone)
Don’t understand for the life of me, when we always persist with the same free-kick routine (Maloney, again yesterday…1st half, came to nowt).
FFS,try Figueroa (have some variety) – it would be interesting to say how willing the wall would be to stand up to his power. Once bitten, twice shy … !

We sold Moses who had the ability to beat people, and now rely on this rotund excuse of a player. We’ve nobody really capable of skinning an opponent and getting a ball over. The nearest we have is Stam, and he seems to have to bust a gut to do it.
But as for Beausejour……no, I’m not a fan. Not Premiership class.

Moses and Beausejour and not like for like. Beausejour is used as a wing-back, Moses as a forward.
You couldn’t swap Moses for Beausejour as Moses wouldn’t do his bit in defence.
I also see a couple of posts saying Miyachi should be given a run on the right: he’s not a wing-back either. From what I gather (as I’ve not see that much of him) he’s an attacking midfielder, so you’d be looking at dropping one of the front three to make space for him.

Beausejour needs to shed a few pounds and he needs to then start taking on opponents again and getting in some decent crosses, yes he did cross the ball for our goal on Saturday but I think I could have done that in that situation ! Their second goal that did turn out to be the winner could have been avoided if Winker Watson had put in a decent tackle instead of mincing about !
