No complaints about yesterday. The passion and energy was back. More performances like that and we’ll be fine.
18 January 2015 at 2:59 pm #138417Just read this so at least I’m not on my own :cheer:The move proved effective, and the Frenchman caught the eye with his enthusiasm and movement up top, as Latics continued to push for a late winner.
Who wrote that, Helen Keller?

but quite funny though (go on admit it – it was clever) ;)
19 January 2015 at 1:39 pm #138434I thought the first half was poor apart from our usual 0-10 min flurry! Obviously got a bollocking at halftime and the changes made a massive difference and we could have nicked it towards the end! It was good to see some guille back in the team during that 2nd half but I am still concerned about our lack of strikers!

Woeful defending by Barnett who fortunately redeemed himself by managing to get back on the goal line for that headed clearance.
Overall, second half especially, we were much better than of late but are poor at the back and desperately short of a decent centre-half.

I agree. Although getting three points would have helped our cause, the ‘fair play’ mode in me said a point was good enough after a hard worked second half and hopefully the team can now build on that and raise their confidence/game levels.
There were two goal line clearances and if the first had gone in then I shudder to think how we would have reacted. The heads would have been that low they’d have their noses in the grass.

So true. Could have started the old final nail syndrome. However sometimes you need a bit of luck to turn your season around, so hopefully its onwards & upwards.
