Welcome 3pts….Barnsley went hoofball to try get equaliser…..sorry but these f####### substitutions for the sake of it piss me right off, could of ended up playing with 10. Barnsley bang average…yet again last 20 we invited them last 3rd yet again. I didn’t see anything today to convince me we can be consistent…..come Tuesday we’ll have another line up…..and 5 subs..

Poor game played in dreadful conditions but the goal was a rare moment of quality and very well worked and Thelo took advantage of some bad defending score a very good goal.
Always good to beat Barnsley and even more so since the shenanigans of 2020.
One swallow doesn’t make a summer however positives are that league 1 is one of the worst for many years and a couple of back to back wins could take a club near the play offs as much as a couple of defeats could take you nearer the relegation zone.

Let’s hope we are turning the corner before boxing day :good:

Excellent 3 PTS, I’m not quite sure how Barnsley are 6th. Humphrys MOTM ? I think the Barnsley sponsor who picked that was on Spice.
I’ll take that all day long especially with us playing with nothing up front.

I’m not sure how many times we’ll get away with it but 3pts is 3pts. I think had Adeeko gone off after going down twice we wouldn’t have won that. This must use all subs could have backfired again given the way we were pinned in our half from about the 70th minute.

But like I said, I’ll take that all day long as for turning a corner ? More like using a peek-a-boo snipers mirror on a 20ft pole and quickly glance

Did well to withstand that pressure which was very encouraging but man of match for me was again Sam Tickle.
So many times he made why looked like routinesaves from shots and bounces but they were anything but on that weather. as they dug in and his distribution was superb.
He makes the job of goalkeeper look so easy and I reckon his contribution won the points yesterday and he was easily man oft the match for me.
A real nugget we have got there , let’s hope we have a few more in that development squad.

Going to be a sad difficult day when Tickle leaves. His passion for the club is unbelievable. It’s great to see in this modern era of prima dona players. I will be amazed if he stays in the January window, he deserves a chance on the (much) higher stage

A shout out again to Aimson who was equally resilient yesterday on a day when it needed players to stand up and be counted.

Brave decision to leave out Matt Smith but maybe the conditions did require the “tougher” players yesterday. Thought Adeeko was very good.

I do have to agree with this substitutions lark. Unless you are a couple of goals down it does seem an unnecessary risk to leave yourself without cover for a late injury. That said, I thought the (mainly very young) substitutes all played their part and stood up to the test well.

Was nice to enjoy a Saturday evening with an away win behind us

                UTFT and on to Tuesday

I can’t see Tickle leaving in Jan, I don’t think the players that callous and not that, clubs in the Prem going up down will be on the hunt come the summer. The summer transfer windows were the monies spent.

I was shocked to see no M.Smith that’s unless he’s took a knock or tweaked something. When all said and done he’s about the only one who has the technique to change a game at any given time his problem is, he doesn’t get played in the right position. If he’s not in the squad for the Northampton game it’s an injury of some sort for sure.

My fear is,we currently play a system were we don’t require a forward or I should say anyone on the ball doesn’t look or aim for Hugill or Taylor.

Players don’t gear up to find a frontman or look for him. Unless this is addressed goals will be hard to come by and we will struggle.

I have a sneaky feeling someone will come in for Aasgaard in the Jan window. I can see a Stoke Burnley Blackburn Bristol City Derby type taking a chance, one of those clubs that are hovering around the top half of the Championship.

If that happens then I’m not sure were the goals will come from because right now he’s our biggest threat which speaks volumes.

Every game Tickle plays the more it’s gonna be so hard when we lose him

Saved us yet again after a 1s half when we should have gone in at h/t 5 up.A completely different 2nd half as I expected….luxury of them having 3 fowards to bring on to try rescue it.Eaves,Waghorn,Hoskins.Eaves no Ibrahimovic but a difficult man to pin down and good finish too.Taylors link up play outstanding what an absolute travesty that he doesn’t have a strike partner to play off. Another 2nd half when again the lack of a back to goal target man to relieve the pressure will until we rectify it be our achilles. Again a deserved hard fought 3 pts, should have been a lot less nervy than it was and Tickle is worth how many points a season to us???….I shudder just thinking about him eventually leaving.

I’m not sure why J.Smith went off he had a brilliant first half. He played 20 minutes at Barnsley and 57 against Northampton he’s not played a 90 minutes in how long ??. Rankine put some decent balls in but he doesn’t have that one on one threat and turn inside.

For me it’s the midfield it’s not balanced. We’ve two forward thinking midfielders in Aasgaard and M.Smith which forces M.Smith into a deeper roll. He’s nowhere as affective deep and last night showed this.

When he plays deeper he’s just going through the motions simple dink passes but when he’s playing in a more forward he’s capable of those daisy cutter passes but he can’t do that stood in front of Aimson.

I think we all knew Northampton were going to go gun ho and long with Eaves so chances will come. Tickle saved the day again, I just hope that when he goes we get street value for him as good keepers are worth their weight in gold.

Anything under £6million would be a joke anything over £10million a huge bonus given sell on’s will be added.

Whatever we get, and I’m convinced we’ll offload at a discount price, Maloney will be shopping at Victor Values rather than Tesco. Can’t see transfer policy changing an iota irrespective of the striker situation. It is so glaringly obvious that this league isn’t full of quality and we are capable of making a bid for a play off spot..but not with Taylor continually busting his arse every game with no one to play off. Non of us know the ins/outs of our transfer policy but speculate to accumulate is surely how Danson has built his business portfolio…..a little bit of that in January and who knows what could happen ??

Spot on Mr B, my only concern is if and its a big if Danson does cough up for a couple of much needed players the priority is a striker we all know that but will Maloney persist with the negative tactics? Mo Salah would struggle with these tactics.

I’ve said all season we have a squad capable of beating anyone in this league, last nights first half proved that but how long will it last before we go ultra negative again?

Maloney should throw the shackles in the nearest skip and let the players play, you could tell last night the players were enjoying that first half, give the players freedom to express themselves!

                            Fuck the EFL
