Don’t want to be in the play offs after watching that it will be a nightmare with Rotherham possibly Plymouth in their, we could have been 3 down after 15 minutes , I fought a few of their players were excellent especially their forward he was a right handful but we are a point closer were we want to be so can’t complain.
14 April 2018 at 11:58 pm #168220Turned out to be a decent point in the end with Bristol Rovers equalising.
I had been keeping an eye on their score all afternoon, but not in the last 10 min. Then to a man the whole of the East stand group starting chanting we are top of the league….
Shrewsbury know given the GD they must get 6 points more than us in the last 5 games. Not impossible, but highly unlikely.
Up the Tics
15 April 2018 at 12:07 am #168221Sorry but it was a crap game. Rotherham were decent but we should have gone for it especially at home. Such a slow tempo and build up play, no real urgency and too cautious. On the plus side yes a point, I have a nice tan and they had Karma Citra on tap.
15 April 2018 at 12:28 am #168222A few weeks ago when we dropped two points at home (can’t remember which one it was as there have been a few home performances as crammy describes) Paul Cook said that it was a point gained and they all mount up. Today’s was a classic case of this. A good point at this stage and another one closer to our aim. Well done lads in not conceding against one of the top six sides. Personally I would like the Millers to go up with us and the Shrews. Keep it up Latics and we can beat Oxford on Tuesday and push further on.
COYL15 April 2018 at 12:43 am #168224Not a great game today but credit Rotherham, I thought they made it really tough for us and caused us problems. We are vulnerable bto big balls into the box. Burn struggled a bit today. Positively though, still top and still comfortably in our hands. what’s up with James? Elder is our weakest link.
15 April 2018 at 1:07 am #168226Credit to Rotherham they had a decent game plan and a lot came down the left early on so think Warne did his homework. They were a bit physical though and plenty of shirt pulling going on. Lad at the back for them No.20 and the big one up front had good games.
Think it was around 70th minute before we had a decent shot on target. Still be playing now and it would be 0-0.
I’m not sure Elder is Championship quality so for me I’d play James.
Let’s hope Tuesday sees us go 3 clear of Blackburn.
15 April 2018 at 2:38 am #168230Must be a contract thing again why Elder plays before James.
15 April 2018 at 2:46 am #168231Another game down and still top today was our hardest remaining fixture we are in a great place. COYL
15 April 2018 at 3:37 am #168233I don’t think we were helped with the paras jumping into the stadium.
The timing was cocked up, the players came out, shook hands, ran to warm up….then were shepherded off the pitch again to let the 3 paras land safely. They then had a wait of about 5 minutes until all that was done, before we could kick off.
We then started very sluggish, and almost conceeded about 3 times in the first ten minutes. I’m all for supporting the armed forces and all that, but I’d rather the club cut out these fancy ideas and just concentrate on the football and winning games. It’s not the players or coaching staffs fault, but the delay didn’t help us one bit, and it could’ve lost us that game today. Rotherham worked very hard, and we weren’t clever enough to break them down.
But, we didn’t lose, we gained a point, and Blackburn dropped 2 with that late goal. Win on Tuesday and today’s point will be a big one. Having an off day but not losing…not so bad.
15 April 2018 at 4:12 am #168234No room for off games next season.

Fuck me Dave, that post is so condescending. To blame the paras is a total disgrace, didn’t both teams have to wait for the paras to do their stuff? . That had no effect on the game and to think it did hang your head in shame. The reason we struggled was a mixture of the battling for every ball by the Millers and the failings of the referee to know the difference between a foul and a fair challenge.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!15 April 2018 at 4:50 am #168237Thank goodness for the Paras and Marines.
Heroes all.
Surprised Wigan Kremlin Council allowed them to do it in the first place.15 April 2018 at 12:14 pm #168238No room for off games next season. There will be plenty off games next season I guarantee you that. Not sure we had an off day as people put it roughly translated as we don’t win.
Thought Rotherham played really well with pace and aggression helped by the ref failing to know which way a foul was.
However give us credit we stuck at it and came away with a hard earned point. Dunks mom for me.
Could have still won it good chances for Grigg Jacobs and Vaughn which go in on another day.
