Amazing stat that we have beaten all the top four away from home and not beaten any of the bottom four at their place. We can certainly out football the top sides but come unstuck against the sides who are in your face , lump it upfield and kick anything that moves. We need to develop a nasty streak next season. If we do I think we will be right up there. Roll on next season ! 🟦⬜️🟦⬜️🟦

Time to uncork some fine wine from your expansive cellar Lostock.
Just rounded off a cheeky little number from Portugal – Lisboa Bonita.
It slipped down nice and easy as I basked in the splendour of mid table safety.
Hopefully, next season, I’ll need something more racey and punchy as we unleash the real Wigan Athletic
Based on the total transformation in our last two games and the style of football we’ve played we now know and can 100% confirm that the players are indeed up for the challenge.
By beating a Lincoln side who have now lost just once in 19 and Portsmouth who have lost once in 18 it’s confirmed the manager has got it oh so wrong for the best part of this season.
For the last 2 games we’ve played a more attacking style of football. No more slow tippy tappy football half way line sideways back football (well far less), we’ve changed to moving the ball with purpose and at pace and shooting as soon as we get half a sniff.
And not just that, our players look far far more comfortable playing this way, playing with no fear.
Why oh why oh why has Maloney suddenly woke up and smelt the coffee? it just doesn’t make sense. It’s been a joy to watch these last two games but on the same token its just sad its took 45 games to get to this point.
Now he just needs to be adaptable against lesser sides who’s sole purpose is to dig their heels in. If Maloney can then there’s a future for him. If we’re to build then those utter garbage laughable performances need to stop and stop now

It was good to watch, now I know Pompey were in party mode and I’m sure if they needed a win to win the league it would have been a different story but still we had to beat a decent side.
Im still scratching my head as to why Maloney’s not prepared to adapt against the lesser sides. If Maloney had of changed tactics against the lower sides I reckon we wouldn’t have been that far off the play-offs

I still say that Maloney was under instructions to finish mid table, Danson didn’t want championship football next season.
Now with that achieved Danson must show ambition in the summer, you can still be sustainable and build a squad sensibly without throwing stupid money around.
Maloney’s aim this season was to ensure L1 survival whether that was in 20th place or higher up and while it wasn’t always pretty it’s a case of job done.
What we need to realise is that SM is still learning his trade and I’m sure that with the experience gained this season along with being able to bring in players of his own choosing without the shackles imposed on us by the EFL then he will take us on to bigger and better things.
Watch this space.
Agree he is learning his trade but to learn your trade you have to make sure you learn from your mistakes and I personally don’t feel like he’s doing that.
There’s been too many occasions were time after time we’ve thrown games away against the lesser sides and for me it’s been tactics.
As for the shackles ?, I honestly don’t think the transfer ban lift will make a difference. I don’t think Danson will provide funds to pay for signing on fees instead Maloney’s budget will be made up of a wages budget.
Players that come in will be made up of,
end of contract,
released players,
loans
and youth.
I just cannot see Danson splashing the cash let’s hypothetically say I a £200,000 player then his wages when that money can pay for the wages alone for a year or 2.
If we had no ban I’m sure Danson wouldn’t have allowed Maloney to buy anyone not after what we’ve been through
