And we could all see Toney was not up to scratch.The only Newcastle United striker I had never heard of. And not exactly a kid now, either. He wasn’t good enough to start, but wasn’t a bad sub to bring on. Won a lot in the air, clumsier than Christy Brown on the ground.
Seems that Newcastle were unhappy about his lack of game time. I don’t like this aspect of loan deals, where the parent club tries to dictate your team selection. It’s not upto them.
Hope we had some irons in the fire. Not keen on this rumoured move for James Vaughan. Surely there must be other loan options out there? Failing that, maybe recall Callum Lang and put him on the bench. Not much difference between most of league one and league 2, with the better quality of our squad off setting against the rise up a level for Lang.
Didn’t know Doyle was injured, Lostock, but perhaps your privy to North End news in local press.

Evans is a big loss though I feel.I agree he will be missed, but Power has looked okay since he has come back, and Macdonald will be pushing for a starting place soon.
