There is a reason Al Habsi was only third choice at Bolton.

He’s been shocking at times this season.

…and why has no-one mentioned his double save when defoe turned our entire defence?

Cos it’s easier to just slag people off.

It’s good that Martinez has a choice of keepers. Either can do a respectable job. I too think Al Habsi will come back for the final.

The question now is Who will replace Figueroa?

Martinez could play three at the back with Boyce, Scharner and Caldwell – or perhaps Golobart when he returns. Stam could come in at Right Wing Back.

Or he could play two full backs, as he did yesterday. He ended with Stam and Beausejour – with Boyce and Scharner in the centre. Boyce is a more natural right back, but we seem short of options at left back.

Our choices are limited. I don’t see Beausejour as a left back, and I’m not sure that Stam and McManaman would make a good pair on the right, though they both turned in good performances yesterday.

Really gutted for Figs but next week we have to put up with the dangerous Lakaku or whatever his name is he has pace and strong as a ox would Golabat be a better choice than Caldwell or will GC’s experience tilt it in his favour Bobby this could be the most important decision of the season so far

Robles has been fantastic since coming in for Ali.

Putting aside Figs dangerous back pass it was a very lazy clearance.

He should of put it out for a throw but watching back the replays it looks like he tried to chip Bale and give it back to Figs.

The first goal spurs scored as been coming all season the way we pish about with the ball at the back

totally agree, we’ve been dicking about with the ball at the back all season, supprised its only happened once but what a time to happen.

It nearly happened against Southampton at the DW only a reflex save from Ali prevented it going in

‘Faffing around with it at the back’ is actually called keeping possession and building attacks, rather than smacking it away every time and losing the ball. Granted, there are times (eg the first goal on Saturday) when the ball needs smacking into row Z/out of danger, but I’d prefer us to play out everytime and lose one goal a season from it than smack it away everytime and lose possession most times. The attacks we’ve created from passing it out have far outweighed the goals we’ve conceded from it.

To be honest, I reckon that if Figueroa had a right foot on him he could have got rid of it easily, the only reason he passed it back was because he’s all left.

If you look at the highlights, he hesitates, then knocks it back to Joel with his left.. He could have hit it upfield with his right from that position.

I don’t get why some players can’t even kick with their weaker foot and others can produce a goal like McManaman did!

To say Robles was not at fault in any way for Spurs first goal is just refusing to accept reality. Figueroa needs to take blame for the initial back pass & Robles for a very sloppy attempt at a kick. Bobby also needs to shoulder some of the blame (as he did last season against Wolves in the last game) for what appears to be an insistance to play it out from the back at all times – I can’t remember hsi exact words after that game but it wasn’t far off that (And I accept that in the Wolves game it was probably an attempt to make Lopez feel better about it).

As for who to play from here on in – Al Habsi has been superb for Latics up until this season but his form has been poor up until he was dropped & you could make a case for saying that being dropped should have happened sooner. Is he now back to his best & raring to go? Only Bobby knows I guess having seen him in training every day & the Millwall game didn’t really give us any indication as he had no saves to make.
With Robles, his distribution undoubtedly wipes the floor with Al Habsi’s but beyond that he has neither impressed or disappointed me.

So in short, I dunno who I’d go for
