James Beattie? I’d take him over Nugent, but I don’t think he’d fit Bobby’s style of play, might give us a plan B though.
Don’t you think someone like Benjani is worth a punt?
Last season I would of gone for Kanu or Benjani but now Kanu’s to old. If Nugent, Beattie & Heskey won’t come Benjani could replase Scotland.
I think we need 5 strikers in the squad, if Hugo, Moreno & Scotland go we have no strikers and I can’t see who would be dumb enough to join Wigan[/quote]
I thought Kanu would have been too old and too dear

He would cost almost nothing. Pompey need to save money and releasing Kanu & other pensioners will be top of there to do list.

Are you being serious? Are you a bit slow?
Firstly, why do we need 5 strikers when we play with just 1?
And “dumb enough to join Wigan”? Are you completed deluded? The chance to play for the 16th best team in the whole country out of 92 league clubs in the most popular league in the world, and at a club where proving yourself will almost guarentee you a move to a bigger club.
What about Piquionne or Dindane? If they were on loan from a larger club then I don’t think we could get them for a decent fee, but they’re certainly too good for the Championship if they can maintain their form from this year. Seem to be slow burners though in the early stages of the season yet they would at least provide more goals than Scotland or even Rodallega. I was genuinely worried when they brought Piquionne on during the 0-0 farce a month or so ago.
