Sheffield United are leading the chase to sign Nyron Nosoworthy, skysports.com understands.
The Sunderland defender looks set to depart the Stadium of Light this summer and a host of clubs are tracking him.
Nosworthy spent the latter part of last season on loan at Bramall Lane, and they are keen to bring him back on a permanent basis.
The 29-year-old, who has two years left on his current deal, is also attracting Premier League interest.
Wigan and newly promoted duo Blackpool and West Brom are also understood to be keen.
