Why not nick the better players from our relegation rivals, some of whom are skint and need the money.
Personally I think all of these would be useful additions to the team/squad and all have prem experience

Eagles (Burnley)

Eagles isnt good enough. The other 3 would be but im sure West Ham wouldn’t sell anybody what so ever. They dont all just want cash like Whelan.
Get Bale, Benjani, Roberts or McCarthy.
Benjani and McCarthey are decent shouts … but I certainly wouldn’t take Bale. As for Roberts … what do they say … never go back.

Latics legend that De Zeeuw, Would love to see Benjani in the latics shirt, and People disagree when I said Bale, who else could we get at left back, especially if Fig goes?
I personally along with a lot of others I know would love to see some english players back in the team.

Not Necessarily bothered about them being English as long as they’re good, look at Kirkland, Awful, Rather have a good foreigner.

Kirkland was an excellent keeper but is injury prone to which i think is causing the problems. I agree he is not at his best at the moment and I do think we need a replacement.
As for wanting a foreigner we have had our share of crap from abroad and still have on our books, i just know that we have lost a lot of fans who wont watch latics anymore because we have lost our heritage and english flare.
Can I ask you how long you have supported this club ( be honest)
On his day, Kirky is easily in the top 3 English keepers and would be going to the world cup if it wasn’t for his back. All keepers will have a bad spell at some point but he will come good again. It doesn’t help when the defence is all at sea since we’ve forgotten the fundamentals of defending this year (personally I think we don’t know how to defend because we need to play 4-4-2 i.e. two banks of 4 and everyone knows what they’re job is when we haven’t got the ball).
We definately need a new back up keeper since Polly is no longer good enough and Kingson is a joke.
As for an extra left back … I’d prefer Belhadj to Bale personally.
Then I’d get Eagles on the right mid., N’Zogbia on the left mid. allowing us to get Rodellega and a new striker up front.

Not once in the whole post did I say I WANT a foreigner, I just don’t care as long as they are good.
In regards to how long have I supported the club, Being honest, Since I can remember knowing what football was, my dad wouldn’t have had me supporting anybody else, twas a sin :twisted: , Not that I wanted to support anyone else, But I am only 20 years of age, dont worry I was a regular at springy park with ma dad :)i feel like the team is short of some young british players who will run their hearts out.The team , at times, lacks effort, some look like they cant be bothered. The game against blackburn-the first half was awful, there was no effort. why not give McCarthy a chance rather than putting gomez on. I would like to see us bid for victor moses.

I do believe we have and im not on my own. I think that every team should only have a certain amount of non english in there starting squad, very similar like they did a number of years ago when you were only allowed 3 foreigners in the team.

Given that the decline in support only began from 2006/07 I was wondering which English flare players we have lost since then? (yes I know I’m ending a statement with a question mark)
