23 January 2015 at 2:34 pm #138550My little lad will be gutted Ben is his hero closely followed by Callum. Has No8 Watson on his shirts.
Becoming a vey sad end to a fantastic era.
23 January 2015 at 2:44 pm #138551Yet not even a sniff of a rumour of any players coming in yet? 10 days to go and it does NOT look good from where I am sitting!
Just you see, it will be a last minute job bringing someone in like the crocked Andy Johnson! We desperately need at least 2 strikers and 2 defenders, the midfielders we have are fine in the right configuration ( Managers job! )23 January 2015 at 2:56 pm #138552I’m taking it that you’ve missed the current rumours about the Dutch striker as well as MacKay’s interview that 2 players are close to joining?
FA Cup goal apart, I’ve never been the biggest fan of Ben Watson but since coming back from his more recent broken leg he’s been dire & I don’t think merits a place in the squad so I’m behind the club’s decision to get money for him now as opposed to losing him for nowt in the summer – any money received goes back into the club’s coffers whether it be to balance the books or fund an incoming move
Maloney has obviously made it clear that he won’t sign a new deal at Latics & whilst I’d like to see him be involved in the squad until he leaves because I know what he has produced in the past, he hasn’t produced that level of performances (consistently) for close on 2 seasons now so his loss is not going to be the massive one it would have been back in 201323 January 2015 at 3:05 pm #138553I’m taking it that you’ve missed the current rumours about the Dutch striker as well as MacKay’s interview that 2 players are close to joining?FA Cup goal apart, I’ve never been the biggest fan of Ben Watson but since coming back from his more recent broken leg he’s been dire & I don’t think merits a place in the squad so I’m behind the club’s decision to get money for him now as opposed to losing him for nowt in the summer – any money received goes back into the club’s coffers whether it be to balance the books or fund an incoming move

Any links?
23 January 2015 at 3:07 pm #138554Thanks for THAT goal Ben, but I will still always refer to your Wigan career as “shit”

Wigan Athletic in talks with Feyenoord over Mitchell Te Vrede (Dutch link) from soccer
The article is in Dutch but there is someone on Vital Latics (from the Netherlands) who says that the site which has broke the story is one which has official links with Dutch clubs and only puts out stories which have come from the clubs (the clubs entered into the agreement to try & stop gossip sites)here’s mackay’s quotes:

23 January 2015 at 3:58 pm #138558Thanks for THAT goal Ben, but I will still always refer to your Wigan career as “shit”I’d have to agree. Never a player who impressed me bar a very brief spell under Bobby during the period that included the 3-2 win over Arsenal
But what a goal!!23 January 2015 at 5:23 pm #138563Rumours abound about the possible signing of dutch striker Mitchell Te Vrede .Nicknamed the ” immobile lampost”…After our recent foreign signings yet another foray into Europe. Any port in a storm for me with our squad shrinking daily.Hope if it comes off he breaks our striker signing hooodooo.
