26 December 2019 at 10:18 pm #183269I haven’t been one to have a go at the management, but you NEVER make a substitution when you are defending a corner or free kick in your own box! This is basic management stuff, and it seems when the players do nothing wrong, the management have to make a mess instead!
That’s the problem with the sub yes not the actual sub itself
26 December 2019 at 10:19 pm #183270Windass was bossing the Derby defence and running them ragged. It’s hard to work out why he was taken off. Ok his finishing and final ball wasnt the finest but he was certainly an hand full for Derby. Why not leave him on and take off Lowe or Jacobs. Surely then with him and Garner on we could have been pushing the scoreline up a bit.
Derby were there for the taking but dear oh dear that was a disappointment against such a poor side.26 December 2019 at 10:21 pm #183271The substitution was made trying to run the clock down instead of keeping concentration and focus. If the 11 on the pitch had kept derby scoreless for 93 minutes, why on earth did cook think that they wouldn’t keep them scoreless for 94 minutes?

Then again….we went 1 up shortly after
26 December 2019 at 11:00 pm #183273Naismith was immense today, I dont blame him.
Agree with all what people are saying. They were awful…there for the taking…etc etc.
We don’t put crosses in and have no final ball. Cook HAS to go.
Was told today they had him in for a meeting, told him it wasnt working, and offered him a pay off. He refused, saying he wants the full amount. But of course, he loves the club…
26 December 2019 at 11:40 pm #183276Maybe, but Naismith had Waghorn in his pocket all afternoon. Dunkley on and is he central defender, left hand side, or roght. Is Dunkley on to mark Waghorn??
No one knows, chaos prevails and they score. Their First away goal in 86 days!!
Naismith was fuming at the bench coming off. So no clear insyructionsNaismith has had his best games for us at centre back, he needs to stay there as we are better defensively with him.
We are playing OK apart from finishing but Cook keeps making poor sub decisions. I hope the board get rid sooner rather than later.26 December 2019 at 11:42 pm #183277Sadly it wasn’t unbelievable, it was entirely predictable!

No such meeting VAT. Your believing lies again.
26 December 2019 at 11:50 pm #183279What’s unbelievable about us bossing the game, not taking our chances, looking comfortable until we finally take the lead only for Cook to get involved with his subs and then conceed in injury time again?
26 December 2019 at 11:52 pm #183280For all these moaning bastards on here I never hear you at games. If you want Cook gone so much put together a demonstration for the next game you spineless gets. All bloody talk.
26 December 2019 at 11:57 pm #183281Yes we are all pissed off and frustrated, 93 minutes gone and we were out of the bottom 3,one minute later… You know the rest. I have tried to look at the positives recently, Naismith really solid as a centre back, Derby’s goal first we have conceded in over 3 hours play and safety is only 1 point away (21).I know it doesn’t seem much but keep the faith! It takes guts and bravery to keep the faith after today, but thats what we do. Because we’re Tics.
But bloody hell I need some wine!!

To some extent.
It wasn’t at all Dunkley’s fault, but if you take off Jacobs the replace him like for like, Roberts probably.
Then leave him upfield to take away some Derby players.
Leave the defensive unit intact that has dealt with everything all afternoon.
Putting another centre back into the mix when defending a corner in the last seconds leaves everyone wondering what their role is. Who was marking whom, or which area, whatever system you are using.
No-one knows, and confusion reigns.
And we know what that led to.27 December 2019 at 12:45 am #183287Yes we are all pissed off and frustrated, 93 minutes gone and we were out of the bottom 3,one minute later… You know the rest. I don’t think there is enough wine for us both!
