The financial side of the club did once hit Nadir and indeed the fans rallied and as they should but on the whole the team has only suffered 1 relegation and has had more highs than lows on the actual form front wouldn’t you agree ? I have said this before and will just say it one more time, the majority ( Yes majority ) of current WAFC fans have only ever known the better times ( Check the rise in attendances over the last 10yrs ) and so they have come to expect a continuation of that ! The old school are like it or not very much a minority nowadays and whether they like or dislike the new era of fans they will just have to accept them and their expectations ! The club has done tremendously well in a relatively short Football league lifetime and all credit goes to everyone for that effort but things change along the way and that is why we have a divide now. It is funny how the so called Lightsiders are largely old school don’t you think ? Of course I am aware of the money constraints but the point that I am making and that I am fully justified in making is that the current manager has not cut it ( Money constraints taken into consideration ) All this ” You have only been coming on 5 minutes ” business is getting a little trite now and the majority are starting to voice their opinions ! The vibe I get on the concourse and in and around the stands @ES4 are generally of a negative one re RM and I don’t know whether they are old school or not but they aint happy.It is good that the fans haven’t started banners and Martinez out chants and we all turn up thinking things will get better but they haven’t ! So the catch 22 scenario remains-Stay up by the skin of our teeth and have some Groundhog day shit next season or go down and stay down ! It will be ok in The Championship ( I was around then ya know ! ) but what will we be playing for ? I guess its just my ambitious frame of mind that is getting in the way of simply just supporting a football team. May be I should dumb down like Big Brother wants me to, roll on Saturday !!
The question is what do you realistically want do we push the boat out too much and bang goes the club or live within our means as we are doing now In my opinion go for the latter it is obvious that the town will not get behind us in attendance numbers it is up to the present loyal 11000 /12000 to carry on giving it all instead of acting like we are supporters of Newcastle united

I will be there again come Saturday in full voice and with no banner or anti Martinez songs or chants in my locker ! Some have already mentioned that West Brom have a decent away record so no point in expecting to win then eh !! I hope we dick em big time and then I can start to really rejoice !!

although I would never admit it I thought we were down last season and for all the anxiousness that piled within me come end of the season it all was worth it! I played football up until I was 40 ( 9yrs ago ) and then started going on the Latics with my brother who has been going on since 1982. I have pretty much been a neutral when it comes to football clubs apart from when I was a kid and then it was Chelsea, Leeds and then Villa in that order over several yrs ! Roberto and his style pleases you and it is your opinion and you can endorse that any time you like just like I can say the opposite. Now last season I knew we would survive and I thought we had turned a corner and would go to the next level which deep down the chairman surly would have wanted ( What chairman wouldn’t ? ) That level not being top 8 or so like some people on here seem to think I want but maybe 9th-14th say, but in my opinion the squad/team whatever you want to call it has regressed and the managers obstinacy ( first half of season ) and his enigmatic tactics have us rooted to the bottom of the table ! Up or down I will still buy a season ticket ( It wasn’t me who threatened not to by the way ! ) but I would like a change now. Who ? I dont know but surly RM is replaceable is he not ?

I am not an idiot filmoss. I just feel we create a few chances but no end product. As for being a middle of the league team in the championship – we probably will be to be honest but just think how stress free it will be like the old days. But i forgot you have only been watching wigan during the past few seasons so have seen nothing but good times. Ok Salford I’ll spell it out for you as your obviously struggling. Just say for instance we played with 2 strikers the law of averages say’s your doubling your chance of a goal, right??? Now I’m not saying a change in system would turn us into world beaters but we may just improve and lets be honest it can’t work worse than the current one. Bob has been trying this system for 3 seasons now and we are still no closer to getting it right. And before you pap on about financial constraints Swansea have spent far less than us and play this system far better.

Now does it matter how long have I been a fan well obviously yes it does matter you wasn’t around when the club was on the verge of folding and collecting money in buckets to play players wages ,you wasnt around when there were as little as 2300 in Springfield Park so every fan has an opinion
