disagree, if rm made defensives subs after going in front, then we lost a goal, he would get slaughted, all opinion and some good ones as well. keep it up lads, its much better than reading drivel fro the heavyweights.

This was my point from the beginning we need to get the job done rather than drawing or losing late on, but being the better side for 90mins. I thought we dictated the game throughout against stoke (although motd didnt show it that way) but yet we still didnt get what we deserved. Just need that killer instinct at the end. Hopefully im proved wrong at old trafford ;)

On Saturday Jones came on after 30 mins. Had the manager brought on an attacking player, that would have left an hour of playing with a defender missing. Stoke would have had free rein to get down our left at will.As for Watson: he was warming up and was ready to go on before the goal happened. It was hardly a knee-jerk reaction to the goal. I presume he was brought on a McCarthur was on a yellow card – and was coming on whether or not Stoke scored.
I appreciate that you’d like to see a more gung-ho approach, but that’s exactly why the likes of Blackpool have gone stright back down in recent seasons.
my latter comment was a tad tongue in cheek, and i also assume that (thanks to google) FM is football manager online game? sorry, i dont do games, i have a life and im not a student or a pimple faced teenager.also, are you seriously suggesting the likes of Gomex, Watson, Stam et al are good cover? for who… leigh RMI? Gomez spends his life backwards, Watson cant clear the first defender on a set piece…. ever, and stam is far to hit and miss.
might as well bring don page and paul rodgers back, plus give G. Jones his boots back
The problem with Gomez is he’s a player who is capable of playing a great through-ball……the only thing is, we don’t tend to look for those type of opening. In all seriousness, if he played for the likes of Barcelona, with top class players, playing in a slower-paced (in general) league, he would look superb.
Watson has stood still. Not made any progress at all under Martinez. Where as Stam always looks out of his depth, especially as a bona-fide right back. He’s better as a wing-back, but still looks out of his depth. Jones was ok last season, but wasn’t so good when he came on against Stoke. You get freebies….they are free for a reason aren’t they?
Overall, our squad isn’t so bad. But scratch beneath the surface of our best starting 11 and there does appear to be a lack of quality in the ranks of the backup players.
Well like i posted nearly two weeks ago about the use of subs i believe my point is proven!!! United away will always be tough but again bringing Gomez on when we are chasing the game is the wrong option, I don’t know what he sees in him. And then to bring Jones on wtf?!?!?!?! This is what I meant about bringing the right players on at the right time! He didn’t even use all 3 subs! And I hope martinez went to the under 21 match yday to see Boselli and Macca BOTH SCORE GOALS!!
Am i wrong or just watchin a different game??
