Gone from being skint to mega rich overnight somehow. Is it good or bad news for us re Dan Burn. Talk is Thierry Henry has agreed to take over despite owd spuddy still being in the job. Regarding Dan will Villa come and get him now they can pay him big wages or will they now think that they can attract a better player with their seemingly massive wealth. If Dan is still here next season it will be great business done by the club and pivotal is us surviving.COYL
This is what happens when clubs find a new investor or are taken over. Trust us to be in a situation that has stretched out since well before Christmas last year. Hopefully it works out well for us in the long run.
If they have the money and want Dan, we will sell but funny enough last season at both windows we held out against the interest in our players and that paid dividends but unless this takeover/ investment is finalised soon selling will be the only way of raising the capitol to finance incomings to compete in the Championship and that is only if the players brought are of the standard or have the potential to be as good as the players sold.
State of limbo and less than two weeks before season starts.
A great boost for season ticket sales if this had been timed better with even more money to ward of the predators too.
In perspective our club, ground, land, training grounds and all the players are being sold for less than half the price of Liverpools new keeper. Something stinks about the modern game.I know Egg we have but we may have heard that before and if the right offer comes in any club like ours has to sell.
That all depends on how far along this takeover actually is.
If they have paid for the new pitch then who says they haven’t been pushing some investment into other areas of the club?
Cook has already said there will definitely be more signings so there must be money somewhere in the transfer/wage budgets.

The new investors haven’t taken over as such they’ve just bought a majority shareholding in the club (isn’t 50.1% or something)
The potential buyers at Latics are just buying a majority share in Latics, they’re buying everything including latics, the holding company, the 85% stake in the DW stadium, the training ground (owned by a different company again), the land & building where the chippy used to be and are floating the new Latics related company on the HK stock exhange (which being a part of China has strict rules on money going out of the country.Now I’m not saying that the process hasn’t taken longer than the current owners were expecting, as they’ve said as much, but the 2 scenarios aren’t that comparable

The way we have been run over the years means they are not just buying out a company’s shares they are buying the shares of about 4 companies that each own a part of what makes up WAFC.

He once said to me and I quote “if you ever go into business for yourself never ever use your own money. Always borrow it if you can because if things go wrong you will still have your own personal wealth to fall back on ” . So if you think about it it makes sense oddly enough.

Don’t talk silly Nunny. They should pile their entire fortunes into Wigan Athletic and sign the likes of Messi and Ronaldo or I’m not going again.
